@DanNeidle@JonathanTapp@cmackinlay@ICAEW@CIOTNews@UKLabour Theoretically, could a farmer use an EBITDA multiple valuation for IHT purposes (rather than the sum of asset values) if it’s genuinely the case that a high value farm produces very little cash?
@DPJHodges@Samfr Because yes, there may a tiny proportion of people who vote early, that wouldn’t otherwise vote at all. But overwhelmingly, the early voters probably voted in 2020 - and for those voters it’s irrelevant when they vote this time.
@DPJHodges@Samfr This is absolutely not true Dan. This is such a bad take. Why can’t you comprehend the simple fact that if a Trump voter who voted on Election Day in 2020 is now voting early, that simply means there’s one less vote for him on Election Day??
@DPJHodges@btharris93 Me and my flatmate both vote republican. In 2020, we both voted on the day. This year, I’m voting republican early but he’s still voting republican on the day.
Exam question: How many additional votes did me and my flatmate give republicans this year compared to 2020?
@DPJHodges@btharris93 Dan finds it *impossible* to comprehend how if a voter who voted in person last time, votes early this time, will not actually get to vote twice
@DPJHodges Do you realise two things?
1) if early voters voted for trump last time, the early voting nos. dont necessarily mean anything - I.e. if they didnt vote early last time, they cant vote twice and will be flushed out on the day
2) you cant see what % of reps. are voting Dem in data
@DPJHodges Your statement “Harris has to mobilize more voters than Biden” isn’t necessarily true. If the increase in Republican mail-in votes comes from people who voted last time, their Election Day turnout will drop by the same amount, meaning Harris would need the same number as Biden.
@DPJHodges “
Dan, you do realize that early mail-in voters can’t vote again on Election Day, right? Early votes simply reduce in-person votes, unless it’s someone who didn’t vote last time – and you can’t tell that from the data
A key point missing in a lot of post debate analysis is that Trump’s claim about immigrants eating pets almost perfectly syncs up to the piano in the Peanuts theme song.

I gave plenty of friendly advice to Theresa May about how to embrace the freedoms and opportunities of Brexit. The tragedy was she stuck to official advice which aimed to keep us under EU laws and controls whilst pretending to leave.
