🇮🇹 Italy Swears They "Did Not Participate" in the War on Iran, Then Admits the Bases Were Open

Italy's Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni went on the record to deny Rome had any hand in the war on Iran, pointing to President Trump's own anger as her alibi.

"Italy did not participate in the conflict with Iran. In fact, if we had participated in the conflict with Iran, it would be difficult to explain the repeated disappointment expressed by the American President."

But in the SAME breath she confirmed the runways were running:

"We respected our commitments by making our bases available only for logistical and technical activities, not for combat operations."

So the bases were open, the planes flew, and the only defense is that Italians didn't pull the trigger themselves.

Nel giugno 2025 l'eurodeputata di Fratelli d'Italia Elena Donazzan ha suscitato forti polemiche durante un intervento al Parlamento europeo in difesa delle operazioni militari israeliane a Gaza.

In quell'occasione dichiarò che i bambini palestinesi uccisi erano "figli di terroristi" e che venivano utilizzati come "scudi umani", parole che provocarono indignazione e condanne da parte di esponenti politici e associazioni.

A distanza di un anno, il Comitato Fratelli Al-Najjar, insieme a circa cento cittadini italiani e palestinesi, ha presentato una denuncia alla Procura di Vicenza chiedendo di valutare l'applicazione dell'articolo 604 bis del Codice penale, che punisce l'istigazione all'odio per motivi etnici, razziali o religiosi.

Secondo i promotori dell'iniziativa, quelle affermazioni avrebbero contribuito a disumanizzare il popolo palestinese e a giustificare le violenze contro i civili.

Le parole di Donazzan sono state criticate da esponenti di Alleanza Verdi e Sinistra, del Partito Democratico e dall'eurodeputata Ilaria Salis, che le hanno definite gravi, disumane e pericolose.

La stessa Donazzan, invece, ha sempre sostenuto di aver espresso una verità scomoda nel contesto della lotta al terrorismo.

L'eventuale procedimento dovrà inoltre confrontarsi con l'immunità parlamentare di cui gode come eurodeputata.

Sarà la magistratura a stabilire se le sue dichiarazioni rientrino nella libertà di espressione politica oppure configurino un'ipotesi di reato. Nel frattempo, la vicenda continua ad alimentare il dibattito pubblico sul linguaggio utilizzato nel conflitto israelo-palestinese e sul confine tra opinione politica e incitamento all'odio.

Historique en effet : pour la première fois, une autorité administrative fixerait — et pourrait réviser à tout moment — la quantité de monnaie de banque centrale qu'un citoyen a le droit de garder (jusqu'à 3 000 € par personne). L'espèce que vous détenez aujourd'hui ne connaît aucun plafond : un billet est à vous, sans limite et sans autorisation. Demain, le montant que vous pourrez conserver en monnaie publique numérique serait décidé à Bruxelles, ajusté tous les deux ans, et susceptible d'être abaissé en période de crise — c'est-à-dire au moment précis où l'on voudrait s'y réfugier.

Le raisonnement officiel mérite d'être entendu : plafond et absence d'intérêt visent à protéger les dépôts bancaires d'une fuite massive. Qu'une institution doive démentir par avance la possibilité de conditionner l'usage de la monnaie en dit long sur ce que l'architecture rend techniquement possible :
