@blakeaburge I've found that actually building things forces you to ask a lot of stupid questions, and that's a good thing. Ego slows down learning more than a lack of intelligence ever will
@weswinder Perceived speed. Skeleton screens, optimistic updates, and removing unnecessary clicks can make an app feel faster without having to touch the backend code at all
@stijnnoorman It's easy to keep learning because it feels productive without forcing you to take any risks. At some point you just have to ship something and see what happens
@tmikov 100%. AI can write the code, but someone still has to understand the consequences of pushing it to production.
That responsibility doesn't disappear just because the implementation got faster
@VadimStrizheus Vibe coding is great when you "know" what good looks like and can spot when something is off. Beginners most often don't know what they don't know
@_junaidkhalid1 People are treating API keys like passwords when they're closer to handing someone an open tab. I use separate keys for different tools for exactly this reason
@paraschopra I've seen this play out in business too. You can build the best product in the world, but if you don't have distribution, you're still fighting an uphill battle
accenture spends all day selling ai transformation to other companies
then since oct 1 it only covers $29 a month of claude per employee. some of their people were spending $500 to $1,000 a month
they're calling it a funding change. it's rationing ai like printer paper
meanwhile codex users are watching their limit go from 16% to 0% in one minute and waiting on the reset like it's a slot machine
this is the part nobody wants to say out loud. unlimited ai was never real. it was a subsidy, and the bill is showing up now
i felt it before the headlines did. i was maxing limits so hard that i felt unproductive whenever i wasn't, so i cancelled
accenture figured it out with a spreadsheet. i figured it out with anxiety
@Markmanson Agreed. Overthinking has delayed more of my ideas than a lack of skill ever has. Sometimes you just need to ship it and deal with the consequences
@_junaidkhalid1 Most people treat SEO like a content production problem when a lot of the time it's an optimization problem. I'd prefer 10 existing pages to rank than publish 10 more that never get traffic
People will constantly attack you in life. One of their main weapons will be to instill in you doubts about yourself – your worth, your abilities, your potential. They will often disguise this as their objective opinion, but invariably it has a political purpose – they want to keep you down.
@izakaminska This is why I’ve started valuing the ability to think clearly over the ability to consume more information. Most of what we learn is outdated before we even get around to using it
If you're ambitious but feeling depressed, please don't give up on yourself. Take a walk. Get some sunlight. Talk to someone you trust. Focus on small wins. You don't have to fix your entire life today. Just focus on making today as good as you can make it.
