It has been a while since you’ve practiced law, so let me help:
* @realDonaldTrump’s incriminating statements are binding admissions against him and are not hearsay under Federal Rule of Evidence 801(d)(2);
* Even if that were not so, the statements would be admissible ...
During Watergate, Nixon’s defenders spent a lot of time saying “But LBJ” and even “But RFK,” and there were things to be said. But it didn’t matter. You only get to impeach the president you have.
A reminder to federal officials:
There is no limit on the number of individuals who can use the whistleblower statute.
If you think you were involved in unlawful activity as a result of a directive from Mr. Trump or someone doing his bidding, now is the time to report it.
If the below article is accurate, it appears @realDonaldTrump seeks to trade action on legislation in exchange for financial support from the @NRA. That would be illegal. A felony, to be exact.
“The spinning that has been done by the president's defenders over the last 24 hours ... it is astonishing and deeply misleading."
~Chris Wallace, Fox News
New tonight: White House restricted access to Trump's calls with Putin and Saudi crown prince - with my colleague @PamelaBrownCNN https://t.co/Z6e1kiZIBh
Here's Fox News' Chris Wallace saying that "the spinning that's been done by the president's defenders over the last 24 hours since this very damaging whistleblower complaint came out ... [is] not surprising but it is astonishing and I think deeply misleading." 👀
I can count on just about one hand the number of Republicans who have condemned @realDonaldTrump's #Ukraine call.
It's totally and completely inappropriate. You've gotta have a comment on this. This is not right. Stand up!
BREAKING: A new Senate report reveals that the @NRA was a 'foreign asset' to Russia ahead of 2016, promising access to U.S. officials in exchange for Russian business. https://t.co/hOai6sBXzB
“He (President Trump) didn’t specifically mention the explicit quid pro quo of…unless you investigate this…we’re going to withhold military aid to you.” Pamela Brown
It’s not even a transcript. It is a White House summary that admits Trump pressured a foreign leader to work with the US Attorney General to investigate an American political rival.
Let that sink in.
