Wet Bulb Temperature is a rarely known but important number - the temperature on a thermometer with a wet cloth over it. If it is above 35 degrees it will kill you!
This site shows that type of temperature - as it is today - on a global map. https://t.co/jYKSpF2MN1
To celebrate the 250 years of America, their dictator is holding a private party celebrating a blood sport. So sad and embarrassing https://t.co/mMilUTceUQ
@KobieThatcher Someone has been confused by the non-citizen / permanent resident thing. The only difference is bothering to take the next step. A huge portion of these people are Kiwis, or partners or parents of citizens.
This One Nation idea is racist with little thought
As of right now, nobody has lost anything. The new taxes apply to the future only. Anyone can make an informed choice around how they invest for their children's sake - including simple saving accounts at 5% interest (seems like an easy decision).
Property prices will now be flat for a while, giving lots of time to consider options without losing a thing
Thank you - some great ideas there. Religion and unions should be taxed on any profitable activities, like property and super funds. Ballooning bureaucracy is a perennial ask - one hires more, the next outsources more, and so it goes. Efficiency can he had in the right hands, although finding those hands might be difficult. NDIS should be means-tested, but also understand recipients don't get given cash. Political entitlements are fine by me - it is a shit job and we want to encourage the best and have less incentive for bribery. Child care is needed if we want Mums to work, because sometimes they end up with only 10-20% of their income after childcare expenses and tax. The amount of taxes is insane, and red tape can always be reduced.
@ellymelly Says someone who enjoys the fruits of a social democrat system - free healthcare is one obvious example. Free(ish) schooling... Public parks... Subsidised public transport...
I really want to support the Guardian, but I do not find fewer begging emails and no ads to be enticing enough. And I don't need recipes.
To get my money, provide exclusive content - opinion pieces from people I have heard of would do it.
@Snevi_P@ellymelly Very easy to say get rid of or reduce the taxes you don't like.
Very hard to say which services get cut or where revenue is increased.
I predict house prices to be around 5% lower by the end of 2026. I predict rents will be stable this year, and lower next year. How much is hard to say - this is new territory and psychology is a factor. Possibly 10% lower.
I believe Labor's housing initiatives will be fulfilled, albeit very late, and lead to further drops. Total correction of 20% for both house prices and rent by 2029.

@ellymelly Our government(s) are painfully slow at identifying and ending rorts. Whenever the government dishes out cash to 3rd parties, it should be expected and looked for from the very beginning.
@Snevi_P@ellymelly Then what is the appropriate level of taxation?
And considering removing waste and corruption is a desire regardless, what services or expenses would you get rid of with less tax coming in?
This car seems cool for surviving the apocalypse, but it is a joke and makes you a target! You want high capacity, low bling vehicles https://t.co/agzSWcg3fR
A commercial EOTWAWKI bunker is a terrible idea - full of useless idiots and a few psychos who want to run the show. Watch Silo.
Go bush with people you know and trust. https://t.co/j7KajstqSQ
