Today, one more name was added to the list of school shootings in this country. In Maryland, another high school, another armed 17 year-old, and students in the hospital. This is unacceptable.

Over 330 signatures collected this morning! Didn't get a chance to sign? Student organizers of the walkout will have the petition on hand every morning in the KLC this week for students who would like to sign.

This is more support than we ever could have anticipated. Thank you all so much.

Banner signing is going great so far! Make sure to stop by dying your lunch period to participate!

Tomorrow (Tuesday) after school, we will be making posters in the commons to hold up during the walkout. Hope to see you all there to help contribute!

Only a few more days until the walkout! Thank you all for your tremendous support of an issue we care so passionately about, and see you all on the 14th!

[PHS Walkout @2018phswalkout]

Remember, our priority at the walkout is student safety. Please remember to bring your IDs on the 14th so you can get back into the building, and wear white!

We live in a time where our peers are gunned down so often that it is no longer news. Staying silent is a luxury, and it’s one we can no longer afford.

[Jan Schakowsky @janschakowsky]

On Friday, students from Senn High School walked out of their classrooms to demand common sense #GunSafety legislation from their legislators. I admire their activism, and I could not agree with them more. I look forward to meeting with them soon.

Next week on the 14th, we will walk out at 10am (after 2nd period) to Circle Drive. The more people we have, the more effective the walkout will be, so we hope to see you all there!

Ultimately, this is not a partisan issue. If you support the victims and you believe that children don’t deserve to die, we are on your side. This is not complicated. We do not deserve to be shot at. No matter how you believe that should be accomplished, we must stand together.

[PHS Walkout @2018phswalkout]

We may be teenagers, but we deserve to feel safe, and we deserve a voice. Walk out with us on March 14 and make your voice heard.

[PHS Walkout @2018phswalkout]

Since Parkland, the US has seen 7 shootings, 8 deaths, and 27 injuries. We can’t afford to wait until we are the victims to start thinking seriously about gun control.

[PHS Walkout @2018phswalkout]

The Prospect Student Advocacy Committee will be organizing after-school poster making on March 13 for students interested in making posters for the walkout. #ourlivesPHS
