Exited $BW and taken a hit - don’t like the collapse in gross margins from 30% to 15%. Management didn’t provide a future path of how they may evolve and with future large scale construction projects likely to be signed it’s too risky now for me.
Agree with this - ex cash this company ($ESP) is c11x earnings and if you take the time to look at their backlog in their earnings releases it seems very likely they will beat so it’s probably even cheaper. Very undervalued IMO.
Outstanding quarter from $IESC with revenue up 40% and net income up 98%. After three quarters they’ve achieved nearly 90% of FY EPS expectations. Big upgrades coming. Up 15% pre market.

Hardide (HDD) up 38% today after a very positive trading statement and huge broker upgrades. Moving in to semiconductor sector sounds promising. Average c35p so it’s now tripled. No top slice yet.
H1 portfolio performance +36%.
US - $DAVE, $MPTI, $IESC biggest contributors all up >90% YTD. $DAVE and $MPTI remain my largest positions. $BW and $IDCC a drag on performance but I'm confident on both.
UK - HDD v strong up >100%
Japan - RS Tech (3445) > 35%
With the Iran conflict over hopefully, both #GDWN and $PPIH should benefit from rebuilding (and possibly new cross country pipelines) and recommencement of oil and gas projects.
UPC Mannheim hearing went very well for InterDigital — Disney highly likely to be enjoined (as predicted by ip fray) on June 16
$IDCC $DIS

+28% YTD:
US - $MPTI, $IESC, $DAVE, $FEIM, $CGEH main contributors with $BW, $CRDO & $CLS supporting. $IDCC lagging.
UK - HDD v strong, MSI OK & GDWN negative but recovering.
Japan - RS Technologies (3445) main contributor with Treasure Factory (3093),Sinfonia (6507) stable.
Investors are searching for likely winners from humanoids (and other robotics). $IDCC will IMO be a big winner with very little competition, unlike the popular names. They are building the agentic AI network to connect wireless to physical world. R&D company with 85% GM.
$FEIM new contract in space defence. Now over $70 I’ve held since $19. Barely mentioned in the current space fervour. ATH and backlog > $100m. Supplied oscillators for Voyager 1 and 2. High spec engineering company really.

$HIT Q4 results out - gross margin 55%, dropping from 60% in Q3 & 66% in Q1 when CFO said they expect margins to be maintained.....I won't be getting back in to this one. Instead of a Chief Growth Officer AND a Chief Strategy Officer maybe they need a Chief Gross Margin Officer
$ESP - Updated infographic based upon earnings last night. Rightly priced for this backlog and growth with optionally of redoing the fleet for directed energy.
+16% YTD: US - $MPTI $IESC $FEIM $CGEH main contributors with $DAVE $BW supporting. $IDCC lagging. UK - MSI strong with GDWN negative. Japan - RS Technologies (3445) main contributor with Sanyo engineering (1960) and Sinfonia (6507) new positions.
Another ATH yesterday for $MPTI after beating revenue and profit targets for the quarter. My largest holding and still unknown with only one broker covering it. Essential supplier to both US defence and satellite industries.

$DAVE just raised FY26 EPS guidance 14%, repurchased $188M of stock in Q1, and has 3 more sell-side initiations coming.
The tape is going to read Q1 as a deceleration. The algos have faded it. They're going to be wrong, just like they were wrong last year.
I help run a product similar to Dave's ExtraCash. I also hold the stock. Here's what's actually happening:
1960 Sanyo Engineering - a mini Japanese $FIX/$IESC focussed on electrical/mechanical work for infrastructure including data centres. Trading at 0.7x book value and 8x earnings.
3445 RS Technologies is the world’s leading silicon wafer reclamation company, with an estimated ~33% global market share by volume. I bought at 11x earnings and with 70% net cash on BS. Japan has some great opportunities.
