“I’m Just Like You” - No You’re Not.
Yesterday Gavin Newsom stood in front of a Black audience in Atlanta and said: "I'm just like you. I'm a 960 SAT guy. I cannot read a speech."
He slowed his speech down. Like he was talking to children.
This man was raised in California wealth. Groomed by the Getty family. Slept with his best friend's wife. Dined at the French Laundry while locking your business down.
And his pitch to a room full of Black Americans was "I'm dumb too."
You know who was in that room? Descendants of people who built Greenwood, Oklahoma in 1921, into one of the most powerful Black economies in American history. Physicians. Lawyers. Hotels. A charter airline service.
Before the politics and welfare, between 1870 and 1940 Black Americans filed over 50,000 patents. In the North they were inventing at rates equal to white Americans during the most innovative era in human history.
Nobody gave them that, they built it.
So what happened?
Baltimore hasn't had a Republican mayor since 1967. Poverty rate 23%. Reading proficiency 11%. Baltimore spends $18,000 per student. Almost double some districts. 8% math proficiency. 40% of its high schools had zero students proficient in math. Zero.
Where did the money go?
One mayor convicted of embezzling funds meant for needy families. The next mayor went to prison for fraud. School workers caught billing for repairs that never happened. The money went in. It never came out.
Not one of the 100 largest cities in America has closed the Black homeownership gap. Not one. The smallest gap is in Killeen, Texas. Deep red. The widest is in Minneapolis. Deep blue.
Now here's the irony nobody wants to say out loud.
Black homeownership in the South is 47%. Nationally it's 38%. Mississippi. South Carolina. Alabama. The states where slavery was the law of the land now have the highest Black homeownership rates in America.
The racial wealth gap is narrowest in the South. Not in progressive New York. Not in liberal Minneapolis. The former slave states.
And this is the best a likely 2028 presidential candidate can do? Walk into Atlanta and say "I can't read either"?
Another Dem trying to Blackmaxxx, whats new?
This is the problem with identity politics. It doesn't respect people. It manages them.
Clinton did it with hot sauce in her purse. Biden did it with "you ain't Black." Hochul did it saying Black kids don't know what computers are. Kamala forgot she was half-Indian. Now Newsom saying he can't read.
Every time the subtext is the same. You need me. You can't do this alone. Let me keep you on welfare. Let me come down to your level.
That's not solidarity, it’s disrespect.
Unrealized gains tax for Gen-Z:
You buy a Pokémon card for $50.
Someone offers you $500 for it. You say no. You love that card. You're keeping it.
The government says: "Cool, but that card is worth $500 now. You owe us $100 in taxes."
You: "…I didn't sell it."
Government: "Don't care. Pay up."
You don't have $100 lying around. So you're forced to sell the card you love just to pay a tax on money you never received.
Next month? That card drops back to $50.
Your card is gone. Your money is gone. And the government shrugs.
That's a wealth tax on unrealized gains. They don't pay you back the tax...
Now picture this.
Your mom calls you crying. She has to sell the house she raised you in. Not because she can't afford it. She's lived there 30 years. It's paid off.
But some website says it's worth more now and the government says she owes $15,000 she doesn't have.
So she sells your childhood home. The kitchen where she made you breakfast. The doorframe where she marked your height every birthday.
Gone.
To pay a tax on money that was never real.
Now picture the opposite.
Your dad put everything into his small business. For 20 years he built it from nothing. One year the business is "valued" at $2 million on paper. He owes a massive tax bill. He empties his savings. Sells his truck. Borrows money. Pays it.
Next year the market crashes. His business is worth $200,000.
He lost everything to pay a tax on a number that doesn't exist anymore.
Does the government give him his money back?
No.
Does the government give him his truck back?
No.
Does the government care?
No.
They sold this idea as "taxing billionaires." But billionaires have armies of lawyers, offshore accounts, and trusts. They'll be fine.
You know who won't be fine? Your mom. Your dad. Your neighbor with a small business. The farmer down the road who's had the same land for four generations and now has to sell it because dirt got expensive.
You're not taxing wealth. You're taxing people for owning things.
It's like getting a parking ticket for a car you might drive somewhere someday.
They want you to own nothing and be happy. To fund the fraud, waste and abuse of the welfare state they created.
There is enough money. More tax isn't needed. It's all a lie. But you've been gaslit into believing this is a rich vs poor debate.
I hope you understand what's at stake.
I always knew Marco Rubio was a stone-cold killer when he wanted to be one.
Take a look at what he did to Trump in 2016.
This guy absolutely belongs on the 2028 debate stage.
He has a sterling record + charisma. Amazing talent.
@mike61400 I don't understand one thing, if the storm is moving north why aren't the 18-24 spots moving north to i.e. to nyc? It seems to me that the storm is much weaker if it goes more north, is that true?
@PpollingNumbers If these figures include death through natural causes then this is so stupid because you're obviously going to have more deaths if you have more people detained, as we have under this administration.
@mike61400 The lesson of the the 00z run is not to jump to any conclusions yet! It annoys me so much when these amateurs try to click bait people with their preliminary snow maps 😒
