@stepbystepnomad@ZacksJerryRig@PTrubey Orders of magnitude different. The point is the heat transfer rate is much much much less efficient. That's the issue. Not that it doesn't radiate some heat but the efficiency. I really don't want to dig my old thermo book out, but it's really really bad.
@Klepetaar@HalfTangible This is basically saying we'll use a nuke because it's easy. Yeah then everyone does it. I believe if you frame it like that it changes to be the option of last resort because it doesnt end at ships but leads to planets being destroyed
@HalfTangible I think of it like a nuke.
Yes it possible and the most powerful weapon we have, but we don't use it because then it opens the doors.
Like other have said you could easily use this against planets and destroy them.
The reason the death star works is because it's one sided.
@BobbyD1622040@ju0622_@notrobbyboose @cashflowgolfer Yup and you don't have to retool the entire machine. My guess predetermined set of choices for the metal blank. Then some jig in a laser engraver. Some poor schmuck is just grabbing them out of a box populating a grid and hitting go.
@AJGarcia86@aakashgupta I do wonder what percentage of the carryout/delivery can be attributed to the people who dine in so that pizza hut is just the pizza place they order from too.
@AJGarcia86@aakashgupta There kinda what I'm thinking.
But also the post is like oh they went delivery only and that is why they lost market share. But how would any business not make that decision with 90% of rev from one source.
@StumpGuyTy 1) labor would be high. Even assume it would take half the time for a finish carpenter to do the work.
2) what percent of people in builder grade homes would be willing and to pay and want this?
3) it's a lot of small jobs with low returns
@onrebrofo@the_bald_ninja@FiredUpCoug Wtf do meetings have to do with it? The class can't be at 10 am because it's at 7am. Also even if it was construction by the time a (reasonable) person has this kind of test people should only go budget time
@onrebrofo@the_bald_ninja@FiredUpCoug I would bet money that this test want the first day of class or even in the first week or 2 but after consistently having people show up late the test was done.
Yeah life happens but college kids are adults and if the syllabus says show up on time and attendance is mandatory
@onrebrofo@the_bald_ninja@FiredUpCoug Real life is having to get places on time. Obligations include class. I have definitely had people show up late have the only seats be where they have to walk in and be in the way. Yeah a big lecture hall slide in back no issues.
@mirandawright@FiredUpCoug Or the professor is sick and tired if students showing up late and disrupting class. Or missing information and having to re field questions all the time
