First at all, look around. Almost none of them have any memetic value. No clear branding and no meaning behind the name, no narrative, nothing to actually attach to. Most of them straight up scream " i am fucking vibecoded", a game slapped together with zero identity behind it where the entire pitch is "here, do things." Farm this. Click that. No soul and no vision. Just another team riding the hype. And then: the economics. Or the total lack of them? Infinite supply of in-game resources. "Easy to farm" everything. Early players print money for about a day, then the whole thing slows down 800% and dies, because there was never a real economy, just an emissions faucet dressed up as a game. No scarcity and no reason for anything to hold value, no thought about what happens on day 30. They build for the first 24 hours and let the rest rot. That's the graveyard... now here's why glue is built differently: In gluniverse, almost everything in the world is finite. A zone holds a fixed amount of each resource, and when it's mined out, it's gone. Not "respawns in 5 minutes", is GONE. Gathering is rate limited, so nobody drains the world in an afternoon. Gloo, the in-game currency, is capped. There is no infinite faucet anywhere in the system and not even the team can inflate supply. Rarity isn't a label somebody typed into a spreadsheet like this item is rare, this one is legendary. Gluniverse rarity calculations It's a live reading of what's actually left in the world, and it moves as supply depletes. Crafting destroys its inputs, so every refined item is genuinely scarcer than the raw material it came from. Everything gets traded on the Gloo Exchange, a real order book, bids and asks, partial fills, live charts per asset. Vendors buy raw materials at a floor price, so your work always has a minimum worth. I had calls with a real economist to make this sustainable lol. It won't be perfect, the world isn't perfect, but it's real. That's the difference. Most of these projects are built to survive a weekend. This is built to hold value because the world genuinely runs out, and scarcity is a fact.

Huge day just wrapped, so much got done today and I almost have a fully playable experience which is exactly the goal for the first alpha build release. Here's what has been done today:
the world went from a demo map for testers only, to something you can actually play. here is everything that I cooked today:
the world
- a real guided arrival: you wake in the dead forest and learn the whole game in minutes (move, point and click, run, the scarecrow who talks and later talks inside your head, your first gather, your first craft, the four ways out, finding
your companion, then crossing into the shared world)
the economy (this is the big one)
- real crafting is live: gather sap, hide, scrap, and Power gated bone, then shape it at three stations (the hoof bench, the workshop, the chem lab). 15 recipes, all actually craftable now
- a living market: the Exchange is a real limit order book with live price charts
- an NPC market maker now seeds that market and keeps it liquid, and it mints exactly zero coins, so it can never inflate the currency
- fixed supply, always. every unit is accounted for and traceable
- a market that opens and closes on a bell, NYSE style, with an opening auction, is built and ready (running 24/7 for now)
under the hood
- wallet linked accounts will survive updates and server restarts
- an audit trail so nobody ever loses a trade or a craft to a bug
- the whole thing deployed to the live server, reviewed and tested end to end
I can feel the alpha build taking shape now, and can't wait to release.
The bottleneck at the moment is the actual animations and pixel art assets from the artists which are working extra hard to deliver everything I ask, on time.
But it's a weekend and we're giving them a day off :)
