Marketing generates Leads. Leads are nurtured into Prospects, which are converted into Sales by the Sales crew.

NOT by the Marketing staff, nor by the Marketing campaign, however effective it may be.

Marketing conveys Brand Value. It's the context for awareness-based sales. But many sales on Amazon, eBay, Etsy, etc. occur with no marketing whatsoever.
