@elonmusk@VHollywood21 Hey @elonmusk, do I need to put down a $1000 reservation for a Model 3 to get your attention? 😉 (cuz I’ll do it!) I think you’ll really like my Media Credibility Score platform idea. Check out how it works here: https://t.co/c4tzhsf3a1 Cheers!
The end of #NetNeutrality may subject us to corporate greed online like never before, but it's not enough to fight to restore Net Neutrality. We need to fight for a New Internet! Join the New Internet Project: https://t.co/c4tzhsf3a1
@mathewi@dangillmor I have a theory that the “Like” button killed all meaningful dialogue online. It sounds counterintuitive but the “Like” button turns every debate into an environment where people try to (literally) score points instead of find a resolution. We have to do better #NewParadigm?
@StanO360 @shelbygrad Not saying it has. My point is that w all the tech we have today we still don’t keep media accountable. That’s not gonna change if ratings matter more than truth - and THAT is why we need a new paradigm to keep media accountable. We have the knowledge/tech to make it happen..
@elonmusk Elon, we definitely need a media credibility rating system. But we need one that cannot be manipulated by bots or people who just don’t “like” what’s reported. Here’s a mechanism that solves that issue (and does MUCH more..): https://t.co/c4tzhsf3a1
@rrhoover@ProductHunt Not denying the Internet has made the world a better place.
My point is that it could be a much better place w a new paradigm where content creators could flourish & make money while at the same time eliminating ads, trolls & clickbait.
@cwarzel Well, you can’t really blame Alex Jones for this (I mean, you could, but it won’t stop the madness). The guy makes his $$$ by generating ratings, that’s what all trolls like him do. It’s our broken media system that produces such people. Maybe that’s what needs to change..
@mims@counternotions Facebook is not “teflon,” it’s just that there is currently no comparable alternative, so people use it whether they like it or not.
Social media today (#Twitter, #Facebook, #YouTube, etc.) is designed to divide and polarize us. Whether that’s intentional or not is beside the point. What’s important is that this must change! If not, our society will completely disintegrate.
The Internet today greatly benefits tech giants like #Google and #Facebook while content Creators have to fight for scraps. We need a paradigm shift - a new Information Revolution! Together we can remake the Internet to put content creators first!
@guardiantech Well, maybe @elonmusk can transform the media landscape by applying "first principles" the way he did with SpaceX and Tesla. The #media is in a terrible place right now and it certainly wouldn't hurt to revitalize it.
@MSNBC@chrislhayes@superwuster Everyone knows why the Internet is broken, but no one seems to know how to fix it. Here is a video that explains, in detail, how we can not just fix the Internet, but completely revolutionize it. This is the New Information Revolution! https://t.co/c4tzhsf3a1
@TIME .@Time Now that you have 280 characters on Twitter there are no more excuses for clickbait. This is why the Internet is so terrible now and needs a fundamental overhaul. The answer is quitting cold turkey, by the way. https://t.co/n7lMeQmIos
The problem with the media today is not dishonest reporters (though certainly those exist), the problem is the only incentive is higher RATINGS. Those who report sensational, hyperbolic & divisive stories rise to the top. Those who just report the facts get ignored. #RiggedMedia
