my favorite aspect of italian culture is how the schooling system works because it's similar to how most asian schooling is like-- the teachers moving instead of the teachers #pvrhsdwl
studying italian gives me a window to the world by allowing me to understand another country's culture and to appreciate different country's and their traditions and languages #pvrhsdwl
my favorite memory from the italian classes that i've taken over the past three years has to be when we learned and danced to italian dances that are important to italian culture #pvrhsdwl
i just finished the book and i think it ended beautifully and left no questions unanswered. the story came full circle and beautifullly depicted the deep bond and trust between ari and dante realistically and how the two grew and impacted each other #apread19
@pvhskristen ooh yes this book is similar and the two main characters are mexican and of the LGBT community and the book discusses how they come to terms with their sexualities and how this affects their lives as both being mexican and the book taking place in the 1980s
im starting to read "Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe" and i like how the two main characters meet by chance and become friends, forming a bond and being able to trust and help each other despite not sharing many similarities #apread19
aristotle internalizes everything and it reflects in how he's written. the way he speaks is passive and uninterested but in his narration, he repeats constantly how lost and upset he is. i wonder if those feelings would lessen if he spoke honestly for once #apread19
@anna_schne1der the book is divided into different sections and within each section, the chapter count resets. sometimes chapters are a page long or five pages. none of them are lengthy
one of my favorite things about this book is the writing style and the steady pace of the story. the characters are developing nicely and you can truly see how well dante and ari, the main characters, complement each other despite being so different #apread19
