Being 45 is a strange experience.
I simultaneously want to make more money, completely reinvent my life, get ridiculously fit, travel the world and be left alone in my pyjamas by 8:30pm.
Surely I'm not the only one?
I’ve come to the realization that if you’re rare, everything meant for you is gonna be just as rare.
Your divine partner, your job, your home, your style, your hobbies, literally all of it. And, rare things take time to show up. The universe will microdose your rarity by giving you these amazing rare things as you also slowly start to recognize how rare you are. Once your energy is fully tuned in, the right things will shift their orbit to find you. You won’t have to go looking.
I am with someone. I went out with a platonic female friend. She kissed me, I told her she was drunk, she went home and I went to mine. She later apologized for kissing me and confirmed our friendship is platonic. The person I'm with feels this was cheating on my part, I disagree. Your thoughts?
I'm at the point in my life where I don't wanna be around people who keep making the same bad decisions and never take accountability for anything. Everybody makes mistakes, but when you keep putting yourself in the same situations, blaming everybody else, and refusing to do better, that's a choice. I'm too focused on getting my own life together to keep surrounding myself with people who don't wanna get theirs together.
WHY MY PASTOR BLOCKED ME
So I sent my Pastor a friend request on Facebook and he accepted. 2 minutes later he entered my DM:
PASTOR: How are you my son?
ME: I'm fine Daddy.
PASTOR: May the bulldozer of favour crush you and your entire household!
ME: 👀
PASTOR: May the thunder of prosperity strike you and your family!
ME: 🙏
PASTOR: May the knife of riches stab you!
ME: (seen)
PASTOR: May the prison of success arrest you forever and throw away the key!
ME: (typing... but not replying)
PASTOR: My son, are you there? You are supposed to be shouting AMEN to claim it!
ME: Oh sorry Daddy, it's my turn to pray for you!
PASTOR: Go ahead my son.
ME: Daddy, may the trailer of blessings lose brake and jam you and your family!
PASTOR: ...
ME: May the ocean of miracles drown you!
PASTOR: ...
ME: May the earthquake of happiness swallow your house!
ME: May the Boko Haram of joy kidnap you and not release you!
ME: May the death of poverty kill you and all your relatives!
ME: And finally Daddy, may the holy ghost fire burn your church with all your members inside, except me and my family! In Jesus name!
PASTOR: MAY THUNDER FIRE YOU! IDIOT! YOU ARE POSSESSED!
And he BLOCKED me immediately!
Was I wrong?
My wife started coming home from work later than usual.
At first, I didn’t think much of it.
Her office had been busy, and she occasionally had late meetings.
Then 6:30 became 8:00.
8:00 became 9:15.
I’d ask, “Everything okay?”
She’d say, “Long day.”
Then she’d shower, eat something, and go straight to bed.
I didn’t accuse her of anything.
I just started noticing things.
She began keeping her phone face down.
She’d step outside to take certain calls.
And whenever I asked about work, she’d give me the same answer.
“Nothing happened. I’m just tired.”
One Thursday, she texted me at 8:47.
“Don’t wait for me. I’m grabbing dinner with the team.”
Our kids were already asleep.
I ate alone.
She came home after 10.
The next morning, I noticed a receipt in her coat pocket…
THE LAST SEAT 🥀
Every morning, an old man sat on the same bench at the bus stop.
He never boarded a bus.
One day, a curious girl finally asked him, “Sir, why do you come here every day if you’re not going anywhere?”
He smiled and said, “I’m waiting for my daughter.”
“Where is she?”
“She promised me she’d come back.”
The girl smiled sadly. “How long have you been waiting?”
The old man looked at the empty road.
“Twenty-three years.”
The girl didn’t know what to say.
Then the old man stood up, adjusted his shirt and walked away.
The next morning, he wasn’t there.
Neither was the bench.
The girl asked the bus driver what happened.
He looked at her strangely.
“There hasn’t been a bench here for twenty-three years.”
Some people spend their whole lives waiting for a promise that was never meant to be kept. ❤️
Sometimes, letting go hurts less than waiting forever.
