AI companies are purchasing large quantities of used and rare books. Scanning their contents to train models. Then turning the originals to pulp.
The sum of human thought, digitized and shredded.
Every book that gets scanned disappears from the physical world permanently. The knowledge survives only as training data inside a system no one can hold, browse, or resell.
What used to sit on a shelf for centuries now exists as weights in a model that might get deprecated next quarter.

I have a couple problems with that new Avatar movie but I'm glad it made Airbending look insanely cracked, I remember people were calling it the lamest element because it didn't have a secondary application like lighting, blood, or metal bending
Also, you gotta have some empathy for your coworkers in certain workplaces. In retail and service, if you just refuse to do things, it fucks up someone’s day who is just in your shoes with you. My whole motivation at work is never to make it worse for them
