@JenkDizzle@LarryWilliamsTI Yes and $30mm to $40mm is a necessary investment assuming it’s spent wisely, which it isn’t. What have you seen to suggest we should spend less, assuming it is spent well?
@straight_no_bs@dustinb429 I would hate to lose Dabo as he is a great coach and has done so much here. That said, the choice between continued failure at the roster component or losing Dabo is an easy one.
@dustinb429@straight_no_bs Clemson is already paying him not to do his job. The suggestion from @straight_no_bs is pay someone else so that the duties get handled. Hiring someone to manage the roster is much cheaper than firing Dabo and much more sensible than allowing Dabo to continue to not do his job
@dustinb429 Good points. I think the administration’s willingness to fund another OC is irrelevant given the fact that, without a commitment by Dabo to use the portal on offense, there isn’t a competent, household name OC who will take the job.
@deptulahasrage I would be interested to know where this occurred. There is no 60 day federal window or a federal foreclosure mandate. Feel like some facts are missing
@jasonjason12986@ClemsonRT@swcRomeDawg The top programs pre portal and NIL (2020 or 2021) were ALA, UGA, OSU, CLEM, and ND or OKL. Post portal UGA, OSU, ND, MICH, and TEX. So Clemson is the primary outlier here.
@ClemsonRT It’s incredibly frustrating. He has chosen to field a non-competitive product due to ego or stubbornness. The failure to sign competent OL reinforcements is as galling as the failure to sign a RB in the portal for 2025.
