@omobendel_ The ₦250k was already disrespectful, but deleting the master file after the fact is where this story took a dangerous turn. 😭
The real lesson: never build 8 months of work on a verbal promise. Get the equity, ownership, payment terms and IP rights documented before you start.
@CynthiaOzumba I probably would, but I’d definitely ask why the “more aligned” candidate suddenly stopped being aligned.
A rejection isn’t necessarily a red flag, but I’d want to understand what changed before accepting.
Employees may not understand your HR processes.
But they definitely notice when they don't work.
Late salary. Wrong leave balance. Attendance errors. Delayed approvals.
What HR process do companies underestimate the most?
Be honest 😂
How much of your company's HR process still happens on WhatsApp?
Leave requests. Attendance. Payslips. Follow-ups.
At what point does “convenient” become chaotic?
HR professionals, what's your experience?
Why does HR get blamed for everything?
Payroll issue? HR.
Leave problem? HR.
Attendance issue? HR.
But does HR always have the systems they need to prevent these problems?
Maybe the problem isn't the HR team. Maybe it's the process.
Agree or disagree?
How many spreadsheets does your HR team use?
One for attendance.
One for leave.
One for payroll.
One for employee records.
At some point, the spreadsheet stops being a solution and becomes the problem.
What are you still managing manually?
New week. New targets.
If your HR team is still buried in spreadsheets, paperwork and manual processes, it may be time to work smarter.
Automate the routine. Focus on the people. Grow the business.
Happy Monday.

Most businesses think payroll errors only cost money.
They also cost:
• Employee trust
• Team morale
• Productivity
• Management time
One payroll mistake can create weeks of frustration.
@Timmysofine Outside of my résumé, I'm someone who enjoys solving problems, learning new things, and helping people succeed. The roles I've held explain what I've done; who I am is reflected in how I show up—curious, reliable, and always looking for ways to add value.
@jojothickums__ The funniest part is always the “based on your impressive experience” before they casually drop the ₦100k salary. Like, did the experience section stop loading halfway?
At this point, recruiters and hiring managers, what’s the most unrealistic salary offer you’ve ever seen?
If your payroll process depends on one Excel file and one employee who "knows how everything works," your business has a risk problem.
What happens when they're unavailable?
Automation isn't a luxury anymore.

Every successful business is built on small improvements repeated consistently.
This week, improve one process.
Save one hour.
Reduce one headache.
The results will compound.
Happy Monday!

@ubonanalyst This is a fair point. The real lesson is to stop choosing skills based on trends and start looking at demand. A skill is only valuable when it solves a problem businesses actually need solved.
@rkivedblues 29 is not late at all. Your degree is a qualification, not a life sentence. Explore, experiment and give yourself permission to change direction. Your “friend” will be fine.
@AramideOyekunle This is why workplace culture matters so much. Employees rarely leave overnight. Most have been mentally checking out long before they submit that resignation letter.
Monday reminder:
Your team shouldn't spend hours fixing spreadsheets, chasing records, or repeating manual tasks.
The businesses that grow fastest are often the ones that remove friction and focus on what truly matters.
Start the week by working smarter, not harder.
@nsemeke33 I think it depends on the person. Recruitment comes with people, pressure and unpredictability, while payroll comes with accuracy, deadlines and zero room for “my bad.” 😂 Both will humble you in different ways.
3 Reasons You Should NEVER Automate Your HR Processes:
You love paperwork.
Payroll errors are fine.
Tracking leave manually is fun.
Still reading? Then it's probably time to automate.
