The Cowboys might seriously want to think about moving on from Christian Parker sooner rather than later.

Zero signs that this is going to get better.

[Ian Hartitz @Ihartitz]

Being a ~35 or younger Cowboys fan is pretty brutal because you’re simultaneously viewed as a bandwagon frontrunner and you’ve also literally never seen your team even make the NFC Championship

We Got Cam Coleman! 🙌

I’m disgusted at you Nico Harrison

Mark Cuban why did you sell the team?

Patrick Dumont you don’t even know what basketball is

I love you Luka

I hate Nico Harrison.

[Jason Gallagher @jga41agher]

The love and connection between the city of Dallas and Luka Doncic is about as real as anything in pro-sports ❤️

We need to get the Now They Tell Us (tm) stories about Luka rolling.

We’ve gotten breadcrumbs about conditioning. I need anger behind closed doors. I need the scene of LeBron looking at his phone.

[Tim Cowlishaw @TimCowlishaw]

Dirk had some occasional defensive lapses and conditioning issues as I recall. Wonder how many years he could have played in Dallas before Nico decided he was too much trouble.

[Jared Sandler @JaredSandler]

Luka was a face of the NBA and he was a Maverick. We took pride in that. It made you feel good. He was our guy. He wasn't just some asset. So you can debate the Xs and Os of the trade but its irrelevant. He meant more than any of that and he was taken from the community.

[Jason Gallagher @jga41agher]

Nico Harrison really did the Keyser Soze where he tricked everyone into thinking he was a soft spoken, mild mannered, decent GM when in reality he’s the single dumbest most arrogant man in professional sports.

[Kirk Henderson @KirkSeriousFace]

There’s a sense of palpable rage from Mavs fans. People who I talk to once a year or less are blowing up my phone. Nico has done something to this fanbase and franchise that’s unforgivable. I hope he’s gone from the Mavs soon.

[Bryan Curtis @bryancurtis]

Some incredible Dallas sports fan whiplash this week:

"I'm finally done with the Cowboys" ---> "I'm done with the MAVERICKS."

This is gonna be my only emotional farewell + thank you post about Luka.

I genuinely can’t believe he’s getting traded. There isn’t any trade package that could have convinced me trading Luka Doncic was a good idea. I fully bought into Luka as the next Dirk Nowitzki; while I knew nobody could ever replace Dirk for me personally, I was 100% sold that this dude was gonna go down as one of the greatest of all time, and he just so happen to play for MY favorite team.

Right when he got to Dallas, I was ready for him and Dennis Smith Jr. to be together forever. Then DSJ got traded for Porzingis, and I was sold that he and Luka would bring Dallas a title. Then Porzingis got moved, and I fully trusted that Luka Doncic would carry the team himself, which he almost did in 2022. Then Jalen Brunson left for New York, and I thought everything would be fine bc Luka was still a Maverick. Then the Kyrie trade happened, and I knew he and Luka would do insane things; which they did when they made it to the NBA Finals. That Finals run was the most fun I’ve had as a Mavs fan since 2011, and it’s mostly thanks to Luka Doncic. And they capitalized by putting a nearly perfect team together this season that just can’t stay healthy sadly.

I’ve defended him against every troll and opposing fan out there for anything negative they’ve ever said, because on the court, he’s the most talented player I’ve ever seen wear a Dallas Maverick jersey.

He bought into Dallas. He bought into being a full-on Texan and it was awesome.

I literally got to watch this mysterious Slovenian kid move to a new country, grow up and dominate the league.

And now he’s being traded. I don’t care if his conditioning was bad; he is still top-3 every season. I don’t care if his defense was meh; his offense was the best in the league. I don’t care about any of it because THE FRANCHISE I LOVE has propped him up since the day he was drafted as the next GOAT, and I was all here for it and was ride or die with him until the wheels fell off. If we never won a single title with Luka, I would have been sad, but I NEVER would have blamed Luka. He’s the reason we were even CLOSE.

I know Luka Doncic will never read this, but man I’m so so sorry it happened like this. I know you’re probably gonna love LA, but I know you loved Dallas and started your family here and gave literal blood, sweat & tears for this team. And you got shipped off without warning. That sucks and all the true fans know it sucks.

I was a Mavs fan before Luka Doncic got here, and I’ll be a Mavs fan long after, but this trade is the closest I’ve ever been to questioning what it means to be a fan. When you feel betrayed by the team that you give a lot of energy to, you start to realize that team doesn’t care about you. The million/billionaires up top don’t care about you. And that really sucks. All of this feels like a slap in the face, but something even less personal than that, because at least a slap would have to happen face-to-face, and this all happened “in the shadows.”

Go crush it Luka. Go Mavs.

[Ben Rogers @BenRogers]

My heart is broken. If you’re ever lucky enough to land a true franchise-carrying sports unicorn and all time great — Jordan, Kobe, LeBron, Magic, Bird, Shaq, Steph, Dirk — you don’t trade them. You build an empire around them. You thank the Sports gods for being so generous to have miraculously blessed your life with an absolute miracle.

And God forbid if you were ever forced to trade such a HoF unicorn, the return better be so much that you reshape your future with so many 1st round draft picks, and young players that you can almost make sense of it.

This just doesn’t add up for me

I loved everything about Kris Kristofferson. He was a poet of the everyday. You can find joy even in his sad songs - and that awareness of joy is what he calls a blessing. He’ll be missed.
