@sunoxen @Criterion The plot may be simple, but the flourishes are virtuoso. Like Van Gogh painting a flower pot, or Monet painting lilies. The first 30 mins or so alone are a master class in rhythmic editing. But everyone's entitled to their own opinion. If you don't like it, you don't like it.

@Criterion @RealGDT When I was 19 I learned everything I needed to know about art from the Pans Labyrinth commentary. Most importantly, what choices an artist makes and whey they make them. Shape, color, etc Have listened to all your commentaries many, many times. Including Night Gallery,Vampyre,etc

@LibbyCutts I recommend Ray Russell's THE CASE AGAINST SATAN. A pre-Exorcist novel based on the same 'true' events. Some speculate it inspired Blatty's novel. Russell is better remembered for his super-saturated midcentury gothic short fiction. Most notable the 'S' trilogy.

@emily_glenister This could be something as simple as dehydration or stress, or something as serious as a concussion, meningitis or intestinal/stomach infection. I'm sure you've gotten yourself checked out by now, and hope all is well. My 2 cents, never treat symptoms. Always best to find cause.

@RealGDT In the theater, I was seated a few rows in front of some young kids who, at the beginning of the movie, were talking incessantly. But it wasn't long before they fully enamored. When Pinocchio had to make his ultimate choice at the end, the kids shouted "Do it! Do it!"

@testpatternshow As far as watching movies; what immediately comes to mind is Frankenhooker; something I would have never sought out, but ended up loving. And the Chucky movies. Like you guys, I never gave them a chance and was very pleasantly surprised.

@horrorflicktab Having just rewatched The Flight of Phoenix last night, I think it would make an awesome double bill with The Thing. A sort of ying-yang of "men's pictures". The criterion blu ray is gorgeous, by the way.
