The parade’s theme “Tu Mexico, Tu Chicago” will focus on Mexican identity and culture with an emphasis on representing each state in Mexico. Parade participants and floats will represent the different states in Mexico, showcasing the many Mexican traditions and culture.
SAVE THE DATE: LVCC a new date and theme for the 2023 26th Street Mexican Independence Day Parade. The annual parade will kick-off at noon on Mexican Independence Day, Saturday, September 16, 2023.
This will be the first time the Little Village Chamber of Commerce celebrates the annual parade on a Saturday and on the actual date of Mexican Independence Day which is celebrated each year on – September 16.
This week we welcomed the FOCUS scholar students from @UofIllinois. These students learned about the Little Village community and the work of the Little Village Chamber of Commerce while getting a small tour of the 26th St. business corridor.
A stop on the tour included El Churro Shop and heard directly from business owner, Aldo Rios on his journey of becoming a business owner and why he decided to open his business on the 26th street corridor before expanding to any other neighborhood.
