@ChrisWelch_JD says Bears negotiations will be resolved "sooner rather than later," with work continuing into the summer. My story (unlocked):

Just spoke to Leader Lightford who told me they're "pretty sure" the cannabis omnibus bill (HB 5784) will move before adjournment. She said some issues, including hemp-infused beverages, will be pushed to lame duck #twill
The measure would require school boards to adopt policies that prohibit cellphones during the school day, including classroom time, lunch and recess.

Not to flog this legislative process again but a City Council meeting is debating a substitute ordinance that hasn't been publicly posted and...confusion is (inevitably) ensuing. https://t.co/iepMbxfsrC
NEW: In an email to all Chicago Public Schools teachers, CPS CEO Dr. Macquline King wrote:
"Any supplemental materials on civic engagement must be approved by school leadership. Please submit these materials to your school principal for review and approval as soon as possible. No supplemental material may be implemented until the principal reviews and approves. Keep in mind that content presented to students must be neutral in nature, providing diverse perspectives, and cannot advance any particular viewpoint."
That means the official May Day training provided by CPS teachers, including David Stieber and Kirstin Roberts whose X profile reads "Socialism or Bust", must be approved by principals before it can be implemented.
As a reminder, full coverage of the training and proposed curriculum, which includes teaching children as young as 3 years old about political issues, was reported by @NAVIvalues and can be found here:

For decades, America's industrial might was forged at the U.S. Steel South Works site in Chicago.
Today, steel beams are rising once again at the Illinois Quantum and Microelectronics Park, where PsiQuantum will deploy America's first utility-scale quantum computer.
A full-circle moment for South Chicago—forged in steel and made possible by the world-changing promise of quantum technology.
One thing to watch in this year’s election was how much does Darren Bailey refocus his campaign on the suburbs. So far, not much- just 6 bus tour stops out of 68. It’s a primary and the party base is downstate, but it will be worth watching if this changes if he moves on
Update: IL Gaming Board has received 158 applications for Chicago VGTs by end of day yesterday following applications opening Feb. 26.
Last week, Ald. Beale claimed hundreds had been submitted by midday Friday.
