Tertullian: “according to the circumstances and disposition, and even age, of each individual, the delay of baptism is preferable; principally, however, in the case of little children… Let them know how to ‘ask’ for salvation, that you may seem to have given ‘to him that asks.’”
the infant baptism debate is messed up because Baptistic folks insist the debate is over whether infant baptism was universal, and because it wasn't they think they get a slam dunk. The debate is "did the early church think it was legitimate". and that answer is YES
Always funny when hyperists try to convince non hyperists that God not stopping a sin is somehow worse than Him actively causing it as the definitive, ultimate, and immediate cause.
If Sunday morning worship at your church looks like this…

Funny, that’s how Augustinians argue when they redefine grace, faith, works, election, sin, atonement… the list goes on and on.
they argue like trannies and crash out just as hard
The grace of God that works before/alongside people to bring them to repentance and understanding of the gospel is not there to undo inherited guilt from Adam (an idea found nowhere in scripture), but rather to free us from the one in whose power lies the whole world (1 Jn 5:19)
@Methodist_Prime Why does baptism save? Not for the washing away of dirt but the pledge to God for a good conscience. It’s our public declaration of faith to the church body, the oath of loyalty to God and the repudiation of hostile spiritual forces
