@9mmsmg I’ve seen this one, he was calling his mom when he did it iirc?
Personally worst I’ve seen is cartel skinning a guys face with a dull knife while he was alive. I don’t get squeamish easy and not a lot bothers me, that video has haunted me for years.
@TheosisQuest If the parish isn’t crying, that means it’s dying.
That’s what our Presbytera told us when I first started attending Divine Liturgy and wife and I were embarrassed by how fussy our baby was.
@GermanCarranza3@RomanosOrthodox Brother he’s answered you multiple times. Maybe consider taking some catechesis classes or read a book to help you understand the basics of our faith.

I’m not ‘attacking’ you by mentioning you should read scripture. I’m stating a fact. You’re asking me to show you where in scripture someone prays to the Apostles in Heaven when the Apostles were still alive 😂. We see them during the first Council of Jerusalem in the Book of Acts.
I gave you a clear example from Scripture in the Book of Revelations where we see Angels and Saints praying for us here on Earth.
I also gave you a clear example of how God can extend His Grace to others to perform acts of the divine, but you seem incapable of comprehending.
I won’t be engaging further.
I’ve not changed the explanation once, you simply do not understand the answer.
The Saints are not dead, Jesus himself declared himself the God of the Living, not of the dead.
The same Grace that allowed the Apostles (and the Saints) to perform miracles in their earthly lives, allows the Saints to hear our calls for intercession.
We see examples of Saints and Angels praying for us on Earth in scripture, just as we see Jesus declare that he is the God of the Living as I already stated.
I don’t mean to be rude but it seems to me you would benefit from actually reading Scripture.
The same Grace of God that allowed the Apostles to perform miracles is present with the Saints in Heaven.
Did God perform miracles on behalf of the Apostles? No, through His Grace they shared in his power. It is the same with the Saints.
I’m not Roman Catholic so mentioning infallibility and indulgences is irrelevant. I don’t believe in either of those things either.
Again for the umpteenth time, the Saints do not have any attribute that isn’t granted to them by God through his Grace.
@ceoaiden@dragopaulo@_namori_fan_ Yes. In the Book of Revelations, we see the Angels and Elders in Heaven praying for the body of believers on Earth. Exactly what we ask Saints to do for us.
‘1500 years’ isn’t an appeal to tradition. It’s based on Jesus’ own words that he would guide the Church in truth and not allow the gates of Hell to prevail against it.
To believe what you believe would be to believe that Jesus allowed the Church to be led astray for 1500 years.
@D3TXL@sonic_slad5483@_namori_fan_ Through the Grace of God. Again, we don’t pray to Saints. We speak to them and ask them to pray for us. You’re just playing a semantic game at this point.
@sniggeringinger@pliskin1roquois That’s a good point, I’ll concede I may have used the term too loosely. But it is how I’ve seen it used in the past even by clergy. Some Saints like St Justin Popovich even consider the ethnocentric nature of the Church to be blasphemy.
@sonic_slad5483@D3TXL@_namori_fan_ It’s not complex nor confusing, and in fact what Christian’s universally believed for the first 1500 years before the Protestant heresies came about.
Unless you believe God would allow the Church and the body of believers to remain in error for 1500 years..?
@sniggeringinger@pliskin1roquois That’s not defining ethnophyletism, it’s condemning a specific group of ethnophyletists… It even specifically names the Metropolitan being condemned.
No one has ever claimed the Saints serve as mediators, you’re simply misunderstanding what the belief is.
We believe the Saints pray on our behalf, not that they serve as mediators between us and God.
In the Gospel we see examples of the Angels and Saints in Heaven rejoicing when a sinner repents, clearly showing they have awareness of what is happening on Earth.
@sniggeringinger@pliskin1roquois Ethnophyletism is literally the conflation of Church and ethnicity. Aka you can’t enter our Church since you dont share our ethnicity. Seems the only one lacking understanding is you.
We see examples in the New Testament, for example in the Book of Revelations where the Angels and the Elders are praying for the saints on Earth.
In Luke we also see the Saints and Angels expressing joy over sinners who repent, showing that they indeed have awareness over what happens on Earth.
The problem is that your flavor of Christianity has completely forgotten things that the first Christians knew and understood, such as Theosis and the Grace of God. The Saints are not omnipotent and are omnipresent not through their own power, but through the Grace of God.
You’re mistaken. This is what happens when interpretation of the Bible is led up to the individual (who we know to be fallen and prone to error)
In the Gospel of Luke, Jesus calls himself the God of the Living and mentions he is the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Thus Saints aren’t dead, but alive in Heaven and able to intercede for us in prayer just as a living member of your family or friend would.
