@Shagarchist I can’t think of a more real-life depiction of Huxley’s Brave New World as the dialogue between Albertan separatists and the Ottawa cultist doomsayers saying “you’ll end up living like savages! Yes - that’s the point.
Most data centers have semitruck-sized diesel backup generators, making sporadic smoke plumes a fact of life for many in Virginia.
An analysis of the emissions found that pollution from the generators could cause respiratory symptoms and premature death. https://t.co/1oYI8ZTFg1
@Jessethefree The only reason to have Libertarian Party would be if it was highly decentralized. The whole of society needs to become highly decentralized, and any organization with liberty as its goal should reflect that.

@DeTocqueville14@oclibertarians The party was (and still is) always a mess - but it formally abandoned principles in 2006 and has yet to recover - becoming increasingly what SEK III accused it of being back in the 1970s & 80s - an instrument of the state it purportedly opposed.
@PaulModica777@Weir4Liberty Even with the recent hijacking by left-authoritarians (which is inexcusable), and many other flaws, the Libertarian Party and people you mention have never supported America last policies like neocon wars such as the latest with Iran.
@brianhund@DarkLibertyFire@RealAngelaMc Even in the 90s - with David Nolan’s involvement - the LP had unscrupulous Machiavellian “leadership” where deceptive tactics were used under the pretense of controlling the message. SEK III wasn’t entirely right about the LP then, but he is now: it’s a captured vessel.
@Shagarchist There are at least 114 distinct neighborhoods in the city of Los Angeles (arguably 4 times that). At least 206 distinct neighborhoods in Calgary. At least 400 in Edmonton. All should have far greater autonomy. And Staten Island should just secede from NY city hall altogether.
@nut_meggy Sounds like the right direction to go, governance and society should become as decentralized as possible, though your dire assumptions about the end results are wrong.
