The Seattle Thunderbirds are saddened to learn of the passing of former head coach Barry Melrose.

Melrose led the T-Birds during the 1988–89 season and left his mark on the organization and the game of hockey.

Our thoughts are with Barry’s family, friends and the many people he impacted throughout the game.💙💚

In honor of game 5 of the WC Finals tonight we show one from the Home team. This @SeattleTbirds road green was worn by defenceman Stewart Malgunas during the 1989-90 season. This jersey is the key to the John Sumida collection, and my honor to have on the racks!! Lets Go Birds!!

This week we return to the @MJWARRIORS for this 1991-92 white worn by forward Russ West. NOBR, WHL 25th patch on shoulder. Glad to have this vintage Warriors on the racks. Thanks for following along to all of you!!

Jersey of the week is from @PARaidersHockey. This 2000-01 black was worn by winger Kyle Bruce. This is one of the longest hanging members of the racks, having been acquired from the team at the end of that season.

Today we go to @TCAmericans for our jersey of the week. This rare alternate was worn by Defenceman Darrell Hay during both the 1998-99 and 99-00 seasons. Great wear and tons of repairs. Signed by Darrell and team owner Olaf Kolzig. As always, glad to have this one on the Racks!

This week we go off the board for this rare OHL find. This 1991-92 Cornwall Royals white, was worn by Defenceman David Babcock during their last season before moving to Newmarket.

@RealmofHelm All green and no gray, just the white and blue trim. Those socks last night weren't right, way too much gray. But it was refreshing to seen the greens. Also, only wear them against teams that were in the league when we wore green as well..

jersey from their time in Edmonton. This 1997-98 blue was worn by D-man Dimitriy Yakushin before he was traded to Regina. Hug your pets and have a great 1!

The Vintage look wins again this week. This 1987-88 @SeattleTbirds road Green was worn by winger Gary Grant. Nice wear on this Cooper mesh beauty. Gary was one of the toughest players to ever lace them up for the 'Birds.This team didn't win much in 88,but they were fun to watch.

This week we go to the @pdxwinterhawks for this 1987-88 road red worn by none other than @denholland7. Tons of wear and repairs on this Beauty ! When I saw the Hawks were retiring a # I thought it would be this one 1st.Honored to have this on the Racks!!

This week we go back to the Island for this vintage @victoriacougars white from the 90-91 or 91-92 season worn by defenceman Chris Catellier. NOBR and all patches removed. Heavy damage on the front collar and super overall wear.Glad it's here on the Racks.

@Wheatiemaniac @MJWarriorsFun Roof is actually wooden. Great acoustics for concerts, terrible for hockey, worst sightlines ever. Was also used for HS football state championships for a number of years. Tacoma Stars indoor Soccer, Sonics 1 year and yes lots of Monster Truck action.

@schm0869 Originally only sold to season ticket holders was the story I heard. I'm told there are some available at the team store on occasion. The 2 here on the Racks came from a complete set that they sold to a dealer about 10yrs ago with the reissue nameplates and front letters.

This week we show off one from @spokanechiefs, this 1996-97 Red was worn by Defenceman Hugh Hamilton. The nameplate and "C" are team re-issues. Chiefs' jerseys are very hard to acquire, and we are honored to have this one here on the Racks.

This week we go back to 1984-85 for this rare @blazerhockey 1st year home white worn by Enforcer Rudy Poeschek. Great wear and the coin and lace fightstrap are still intact.That quarter has been there since '85!! Honored to have this beauty on the Racks!!

This week we stick with the home team ,our Beloved @SeattleTbirds. This beautiful blue road was worn by Defenceman Ethan Bear during the 2015-16 WHL Finals vs. the Brandon. Memorial Cup patch on the shoulder oppo the City of Kent patch. 1 of 34 Birds currently on the Racks.
