@TheBillyBob1020@mcuban@KamalaHarris It doesn't make sense then. The Trump tariff wouldn't affect the domestic company that produces its products and sells them in the United States. under the Cuban theory, the US company making US goods would be taxed at a higher rate because each domestic company would be taxed.
@RealEdFriendly@mcuban@KamalaHarris It's actually mostly private equity in the United States now. His example doesn't account for that. He assumes the company imports 100%. He also uses a corporate tax rate. But that may not be accurate for private equity. So the reality is citizens might be paying more in taxes.
@RealJump@mcuban@KamalaHarris As long as companies import 100% of the products as in his example. If any of it is manufactured in the United States, the numbers change because each company is taxed and the numbers need to be adjusted for inflation. He also seems to assume the corporations are not foreign.
@JBourne1974@realDonaldTrump China does it because they produce stuff that we buy. The United States doesn't really produce much anymore. Other countries rely on the US for weapons, not much else. And all our weapons are going to Ukraine.
@rhony_bravo Unfortunately the people performing are not running for election. And chances are they have no idea what the platform is. What you won't here is anything about China, Russia, Israel, or Mexico. The focus is on keeping the ruling party in power.
@PastorNieves5 @realDonaldTrump So do China, Russia, Dubai, and India. Because those countries are going to grow and expand their global reach. The United States is going to become the country those countries use to funnel money.
@MitchellApple2@realDonaldTrump They are great for Ukraine because they get the guns. China loves the green new deal because it will bankrupt the United States. Dubai loves it too because they will become the dominant player in the equine industry.
@phaylen@realDonaldTrump No one knows what she is going to do because she doesn't talk about the issues or any type of vision. Look at China the country has a vision. Dubai same thing. No one at the DNC talks about what they will do for the country. They only talk about people.
@arditoPRIME@realDonaldTrump As long as they have power nothing else matters. Unless you are China, Russia, India, and Dubai. Then you can help the rest of the world when the United States can't. Those countries have a vision for their regions and the world.
@JBourne1974@realDonaldTrump So are China and Russia. Because they know the US citizens will be taxed, the borders will remain open, and we'll send a lot of money to Ukraine. This means China can fund the rest of the world and when we are broke, China can step in.
@atrupar@DrJaimeFriedman It's unfortunate he didn't talk about the accomplishments of the department of transportation. Or what the vision is for the future. China, Dubai, and India talk about their visions. The United States only talks about retaining power.
@IdaColl_11@atrupar He also demolished the transportation systems in the United States. Boeing can't keep planes in the air or get Starliner out of orbit. Trains were running off the tracks. And the highways need to be repaired. Notice how no one mentions any transportation accomplishments.
@elonmusk This will only force companies to lay off and consolidate. More will go under private equity holdings like Hurley did after Nike sold it off.
@elonmusk This probably has more to do with private equity. Congress is more invested in those companies and so they hit the public companies with higher tax rates. The effect is less people spend money and companies will look to consolidate.
@TheTonus@USMiniTru@Tim_Walz@MyLittlePony The horse would do a better job of running the country. At least it can stand up straight without falling over, walk up stairs, and you can understand what it says. And people understand if other world leaders have to grab its lead line when it wanders off.
@TonyDungy It can probably be summed up into one of two things. We are playing well and need to keep up the intensity. We are not playing well and need to play better. How? That's what we'll work on at half time.
