Saying good bye to a student is especially hard right now. I am so proud of her and her classmates. A computer screen hasn’t stopped them from making strong connections. They tutor each other, create book clubs, give advice, and build each other up. It’s all I can really ask for.

I had an intense conversation with a colleague about grading. I don’t give 0s or penalize late work, and I give 2nd chances. Their argument was it is not fair to other students who turn their work in on time, and I am not preparing them for the workforce. I need backup. Anybody??
