@abegg_gauthey @geerlingguy It is more repairable than any other Apple product. That is true, and rightly should be applauded. However, if your storage goes out, the whole mainboard has to be replaced. And as soon as Apple comes out with a new model, this version of Neo wont be available as history shows.

-The 12 has a touch screen and supports pens with excellent levels of touch etc.
-The 12 runs Windows or Linux and has native support for all x86 software. Massive collection. Dwarfs all ARM desktop software combined.

@roddux @geerlingguy And you would still have only 16gb of RAM combined, nothing repairable or upgradeable, and would still be renting most of the functionality through Apple services. The point I'm making is that there is more than just the initial investment to consider.

@LundukeJournal DHH, once again, hits the nail on the head. Don't recoil, just check and proof as necessary. AI is like a power suit. Refusing to use a suit that makes you stronger is just silly. Linux no longer has the excuse of not enough engineering might due to lack of volunteers!

The important thing to remember is that children are the product of their parents, quite literally. There are ages were things are just mostly unavoidable (terrible twos, etc.) due to the brain just not being developed enough at those points. However, children can only do what they see their parents do or allow.

@unclebobmartin Societies ebb and flow. While some of the nostalgia is misplaced, some of it is not. To lament over days past doesn't mean that you pine for them over today. The future is bright, but it fades fast when we forget the lessons of the past.
