& i think that saying women are manipulated into cosmetics is just a weird way of saying that our choices aren’t our own— and that we are a slave to patriarchal pressures when in all actuality it takes a lot of deep reflection for some women to decide that they would feel confident looking in the mirror if they were to enhance or dissolve certain features they have. it’s not for others to understand, but it also shouldn’t be a reflection of their involvement in feminism if that makes sense (?)
