Mars is home to Olympus Mons, a volcano so gigantic that Mount Everest would stand less than halfway up its slopes.
Olympus Mons is the largest known volcano in the Solar System, rising about 21.9 kilometers (13.6 miles) above the Martian surface. At more than twice the height of Mount Everest, which stands 8,849 meters (29,032 feet) above sea level, it is the tallest volcano ever discovered.
Its immense size extends beyond its height. Olympus Mons stretches roughly 600 kilometers (370 miles) across, and its slopes are so gradual—averaging only about a 5% incline—that someone standing nearby on Mars might not even realize they were looking at a mountain. Scientists believe it reached these extraordinary dimensions because Mars lacks active plate tectonics, allowing lava to erupt from the same hotspot for millions of years. At its peak lies a vast caldera complex nearly 80 kilometers (50 miles) wide, large enough to encompass many major cities on Earth.

BREAKING: SpaceX is reportedly planning to bring Starlink mobile directly to consumers in the United States.
The service would compete head-to-head with Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile if it launches.
It would also mark a major expansion of Starlink from a satellite internet provider into a full consumer wireless platform.
A glimpse of an era when even the most ordinary things were wrapped in elegance, 1910.
Around 1910, even the smallest household details were designed with beauty in mind. Door hardware wasn’t just functional—it was part of the home’s character. Knobs, lock plates, hinges, and keyholes were often decorated with floral motifs, geometric patterns, brass accents, and intricate metalwork.
This was an era when craftsmanship shaped everyday life. Designers embraced ornament rather than hiding it, turning ordinary objects into works of art. Influenced by Victorian, Edwardian, and Art Nouveau styles, these fixtures were built from durable materials like brass and bronze, meant to age gracefully over decades. Decorative door hardware was commonly sold through catalogs, allowing homeowners to choose designs much like they selected furniture or wallpaper—a reminder that beauty was once found in even the most routine parts of daily life.
I can’t stop thinking about these crazy $AAPL price increases.
We’ve never seen anything like this in consumer electronics, ever. It’s not new products, just current or even very old products.

“Great companies are built on great products.”
One simple idea that has guided Elon Musk across Tesla, SpaceX, Neuralink, and xAI.
In the end, marketing can get attention but great products change the world.

Precious Metals were supposed to surge on war fear. Instead they crashed when the war started, and now they're crashing again as the war is ending.
Just recently, an ad appeared on this platform that displayed IQ scores based on occupation. The intention is unclear, but it's inappropriate as an ad. I immediately muted it, but I wonder if tax money is being used for things like this in Japan?
