@Cyclonebuster@PCarterClimate This would help a big part of the problem. Short term runaway heat gain. If we can build thousands of super tankers… but we still need a comprehensive plan.
@mzjacobson@HH_SSS_HH Now add in long term future costs which will be in the trillions. Now add in the millions of lost lives, the abandoned cities, cost of climate migration impacts to neighboring countries and subsequent lost potential of hundreds of millions of people who will not have opportunity
@mzjacobson@HH_SSS_HH Now add in the cost of wars, subsidies, environmental toll which requires billions in clean up costs, plus cost to ecosystems in the form of lost productivity and long term health costs and the opportunity costs from countries investing excessive amounts of capital in FFuels
@Melvin8654401@BianchiWeather@ThoughtCrimes80 Doesn’t matter why. What matters is we act. And 1 of the main things humans can do is minimize the use of fossil fuels immediately and transition to renewables, mass transportation and EV’s. As crazy as it may seem what we are witnessing is only the start of what’s to come.
@GeoffMeckWolf @US_Stormwatch Hawaii has a unique porous structure under the islands that hold massive amounts of water. Tourism wastes a lot of water. But relatively low population otherwise.
@aq_ava@US_Stormwatch Resilience? For how long? And how much will it cost to build and operate per year? How much oil? Too many people to serve if reliant on desalination for several months due to population density.
@PCarterClimate What is truly mind boggling is the new science indicating that the increase in temperature above a certain level will take several decades ++ to recede. So whatever increase we “get to” we are stuck with thus eliminating the logic and rationale that “we can fix it” at any time.
@LeonSimons8@chrisroadmap The sun cycle of increasing/decreasing irradiance is a constant. Predictable. Changes today occurred throughout time. Within this context, it’s more obvious that emissions and other human created impacts & variables increase GHG are what is creating the issue.
Summer Safely incentives last until end of September & are stackable with other programs. Match these up with a plug in hybrid OR EV during the month of September to also capture tax credits + these models should qualify for accelerated depreciation.

@elonmusk@elonmusk sustainability including recognition of climate change tipping points, ending $ in politics + major reforms, no more super/pacs, public (& private) healthcare options & major reform, small farm initiatives, victory gardens and must all be a part of the new party.
Celebrating International Day of Forests today! Let's honor these vital ecosystems that sustain life, store carbon, and provide homes for countless species. Time to protect and restore our forests for a healthier planet. #InternationalDayOfForests#ForestConservation
Scott Reef is, in the words of renowned author Tim Winton, “the last remote, unspoiled, undeveloped, clear water coral reef system” in Australia.
Now Australian fossil fuel company Woodside want to start the AUD30Bn Browse gas project only 3km from it.
