I’m tired of the hubris of online Mormons, orthodox, and romanists.
There is a vast difference between biblical Christians pointing and waving you to the scriptures for truth and the claim ALL of the above mentioned makes which is “ We aRe ThE OnE truE cHUrch”
Us seeking to remain scriptural is not pride in our “religion”, our organization, or religious leaders, it’s reverence for God and desire for truth.
It’s always “the early church did this or that” ….and? Paul corrected the church at Corinth and Galatia for their errors IN WRITING. Old doesn’t mean true.
Scripture means true. God means true.
What God has said is the absolute standard and the body of Christ (the one true church) doesn’t give a literal rip what long dead men who weren’t apostles or prophets have said if IT DOESN’T ALIGN WITH SCRIPTURE.
That INCLUDES the reformers. They didn’t get it all right either!
Acts 17:11
New American Standard Bible
11 Now these were more noble-minded than those in Thessalonica, for they received the word with great eagerness, examining the SCRIPTURES daily to see whether these things were TRUE.
Who was the sicko behind the camera who felt like it was a better use of his time to shoot this video than to CALL A FREAKING AMBULANCE
What kind of society do we live in? https://t.co/DIvAT4rD2Y
@gaptoothdummy Obviously discipleship is part of the picture, but my cousin “got saved” because he was bored and read the Bible, so I don’t think that that counts as active evangelism. But I don’t believe in any type of universal salvation, if that’s what you’re asking.
@TheOfficeCalvin I’ll grant you that I’m not a true 1689-er, but I’d still hesitate to go evangelize with the IFB’s. I grew up GARBC and I still have friends there, but IFB and literally anyone else are different enough that I’d worry that we were sharing two different Gospels.
