@jasoncrawford @MomentumOp89 Let me clarify. Different states have different liability/fault standards. States with contributory negligence standards put a huge onus on cyclists to prove they are 0% at fault to receive compensation. Other states have different standards.

I think what they have have meant is that traffic engineers do not build road networks to maximize safety.

@GeoffreyHuntley @charles_bice Unfortunately no. I don’t live there, just have many friends who do so have visited many times. The wire is actually pretty good explaining what happened in the last 30 years. At one point Baltimore was one of the biggest and richest cities in the US, today it’s still a husk.

@GeoffreyHuntley @charles_bice Geoff, any place you’d go in Baltimore is going to be fine. Inner harbor is the easiest spot, very touristy but the aquarium and science museum are cool (though expensive). Fort McHenry for history. Whitney museum for art. Museum of industry. Underrated city.

@ChikeDottin @SlopHq Personally I’d like the registration fees to be relative to the expected wear and tear the car produces - heavier car pays more. That also helps offset the lost gas taxes that EVs don’t pay.

@ChikeDottin @SlopHq Yeah (I live in VA). I’m find it annoying mostly because I have forgotten to pay it many times, wish it was just in the registration fee. I’m not sure how much the tax helps cover more of the road budget, haven’t researched it yet.

@floor_per_area I’ve found it effective to respond with “innocent” questions. “That’s interesting, do you have a citation?” Etc. Bad faith actors won’t have one and so they expose themselves as such and become bored. If you attack head on it just encourages them because it’s “fun”.
