@Clay_Anon@Puppieslover It's real. They got the toy hat and vest from Komatsu, who made the excavator. Komatsu saw the construction company's posts on Instagram and sent them a care package. https://t.co/L3tFL2iQnd
@arvofart Exactly. Look at what Kurosawa did for Samurai movies. Or what Fritz Lang did with crime thrillers in the Testament of Dr. Mabuse. Film history's full of directors who took a genre that wasn't respected and made something great.
@tweetelissa I'm not a huge AI fan (I'm in the industry and I've heard too many false promises), but this actually seems like a good use. If they follow up with inspectors to confirm there shouldn't be a problem with false positives.
@HorrorCarnival The thing that makes the unmasking a great scene is that it slides into horror. At first the Invisible Man's almost sympathetic, and his attacks have a silly, cartoonish air about them. Then he gets uglier and uglier until he's straight-up murdering people.
@FriendsFamilyDC Some of this is probably down to unwarranted fear. A lot of tourists are convinced that if they walk through DC they'll be attacked by a band of muggers fresh out of a Batman movie.
@anna_c_kramer I was sorry @PLKDC Patrick Kennedy didn't run again for 2A01 after he lost his council run against Brooke Pinto. He started as a GW student. He did a great job for 2a01, he was singlehandedly responsible for making Pepco stop using heavy machinery outside my window at midnight.
@rposhaughnessy I know they're ridiculously impractical, but I used to love riding in those things when I was a kid. Bonus points if it was one of the weird ones that went up and down like an elevator.
@KenneyNL Moria...You fear to go into those asset packages. The game developers delved too greedily and too deep. You know what they awoke in the darkness of Khazad-dûm: pixels and polygons.
@Andrew_Alberg@mattadler81@J_Schneider If so, they're shipped in from a really good place in New York in cardboard boxes. I don't know where they get their bagels, I just know I've never been disappointed with them.
@femmecatal@visceralscenery The patio thing is because there's smoke from the Canadian wild fires so the air's polluted. The raspberry part is because there's an epidemic right now of people getting sick from a stomach parasite called Cyclospora. It's on fresh fruits and vegetables.
@ErickSHootman@HorrorCarnival No AI. In fact, it's pre-CG, so everything was done with practical effects and Harryhausen style stop-motion. It's definitely worth a watch.
