The Amendment Act enhances the punishment for offences and sets up Fast Track Courts

The Parent Act contained 19 sections. The Amendment amended 3 sections and introduced a new section

It is s misnomer to describe either the Parent Act or the Amendment Act as a law to 'prevent' unfair means

Both are laws to 'punish' those guilty of using unfair means

There is a vast difference between 'prevention' and 'punishment'

'Prevention' means steps BEFORE unfair means are used. On the other hand, 'punishment' means steps AFTER unfair means are used

The obvious distinction was pointed out by the Opposition speakers in the debates in both Houses

The NTA which is charged with conducting various important exams, isn't a statutory body.

It was set up under the "Societies Registration Act 1860, as an "autonomous" body.

Pradeep Kumar Joshi a "academic" with RSS affiliations, a fully paid up member of the ABVP, in his student days, and who has enjoyed several cushy postings, in the past, is Chairman of NTA, and no one touches him, even now.

RSS, has truly infiltrated the education system.
