I strongly reject Richard Grenell’s attempt to insert himself into Kosovo’s internal political decision-making and to portray selected MPs as the “real friends of America.”
Kosovo is a sovereign European democracy. Its President must be chosen in Prishtina by Kosovo’s elected representatives, not under pressure from foreign political personalities.

And my message to the six LDK MPs opposing the current compromise is equally clear: vote for a consensus President.

Do not push Kosovo into another institutional blockade. Do not sacrifice national stability for internal party calculations.

Kosovo needs:

🇽🇰 a functioning Presidency
🤝 democratic compromise
🛡️ NATO membership
🇪🇺 EU membership
🌍 full international recognition
🇺🇸 a strong strategic partnership with America

Being pro-American does not mean being pro-Grenell.

I am profoundly committed to the transatlantic alliance. Precisely for that reason, Kosovo’s relationship with America must be built on institutions, NATO, democracy and mutual respect — not on personal networks and political pressure.

To the six LDK MPs: put Kosovo first. Break the blockade. Vote responsibly for a consensus President.

Kosovo has spent far too much political energy on internal paralysis. Every wasted month weakens its international position while Serbia and Russia work against Kosovo’s recognition and Euro-Atlantic integration.

Kosovo needs unity now.
NATO. EU. Recognition.
Not another political crisis.

I call on Romania’s pro-European President Nicușor Dan to take the historic step and recognize the Republic of Kosovo.

President Dan was elected on a pro-European, pro-Western platform and has emphasized Romania’s role inside the EU and NATO.

Romania should now bring its Kosovo policy into line with the majority of its European and NATO partners.
