I am the professor for GSWS 320: Gender, Environment and Climate Justice, and GSWS 210: Reproductive Justice at Simon Fraser University. Opinions are my own.
@SEcofem TW for discussion of sexual violence and victim-blaming. There's also some additional info in the comments, tho there are also victim-blaming comments by R and friends of theirs.
#ecofemSFU Am thinking of going to this tomorrow if anyone wants to come with me. good way to get involved whatever your risk level (i.e. lots of ways to help!) https://t.co/uD7QLBJvpF
Going to be recording a discussion/short talk with @kittystryker on Tuesday for next week's class on sex work. Do any of those of you in my 210 class have any questions? Tweet them out or email them to me! #Rterms
Talking about ways to support indigenous and first nations people in the fight against climate change - looking at @RisingTide604 as an example of a local group #ecofemsfu https://t.co/1OB9XMOCMH
Watching documentary by Metis filmmaker Matt LeMay about residental schools. The truth and reconciliation committee set up as part of the settlement agreement came up with 94 recommendations, some are listed here https://t.co/e3ZCzsYisU #Rterms
When I was watching the documentary about "Truth and Reconciliation" one of the interviewees stated that it is important to understand the context behind some of the horrific events. Such as the missing and murdered Indigenous women incident. #Rterms https://t.co/juhzouUCMp
@RJRRurchoice It’s such a harrowing example of gaslighting indigenous kids experiences. And also demonstrates that white Canadians were willfully ignorant about what their government was doing.
@erinsfu It's so disturbing to me that the hospital board is reportedly denying her constitutional rights - makes me wonder if there are more cases like this that have gone unreported? Women of Ireland deserve better than to fight for and win abortion rights that are not being honoured
@210Gsws It's so shocking to me - but perhaps shouldn't be - that after all the progress of the last decades abortion and birth control would still be threatened.
@210Gsws I know, it's really disturbing to me - but speaks to larger issues around prison conditions - and how BIPOC folks (Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour) have higher incarceration rates than while people.
