We are absolutely delighted to announce that our second visitor for the July Diesel Gala has been confirmed as Class 31 31210, courtesy of Jason Hall.
The Class 31 were a fleet of 263 locomotives built by the Brush Traction Company in the Falcon Works in Loughborough.
It's wild that @AndyBurnhamGM appealed to my mum's 70 yo tory mates (mum's a lefty though), he appealed to my dad, he appealed to dad's tory mates.
But in just 3 days after he's gone back on trans rights, Israel, and the economy - everyone's back to "oh well not him he's starmer"
We are delighted to announce that our first visitor for the July Diesel gala has been confirmed as Class 423 4VEP 3417 “Gordon Pettit”, courtesy of our friends at the Southern Electric Traction Group and the Bluebell Railway.

Yesterday was @railforum_uk's TOCTalk conference heavily led by DfTO (DfT Operator). Here's my top take-aways: 1) All 3 DfTO speakers said focus was on reducing the net subsidy to rail in the short term. Lots of ways to improve decision-making & drive better value, but.... (1/8)
47579 out on Bank Holiday Monday at the @Watercress_Line
3 round trips starting 1050 at Alton
@FoKAB1985 bus running day in Winchester too so why not make a full day of it?
But the SETG have secured 5871 for preservation, so the Class 455 isn’t quite finished yet!
If you’ve been following our unit, your support is going to be vital to making sure that 5871 makes a return to service.

Trouble on Leeds tram as mayor and minister agree to delay the project to have it delivered in the late 2030s. Mayor complains of the difficulties in building: “It cannot be right that it could take 18 years from the beginning of the project to the end.” https://t.co/4m6ZOAMDpQ
Remember when HS2 to Leeds was cancelled by the NIC's shitty maths and fundamental lack of expertise, and Leeds was thrown the bone of "you'll get trams" and I said those would never be delivered?
Yeah, as I was saying...

GWR says this Saturday (13th) will be the final day in service for its 'Castle' HST sets, with the following trains being worked. Note the 15.16 Plymouth-Penzance and return at 17.32 are additional services calling only at Par in both directions.
@GWRHelp
@LilianGreenwood Naff or what. I do wish someone would start taking GBR seriously.
It's not about taking back control. DfT has increasingly been in direct control of the railway.
We need to give the railway back to the people who know how to run it.
Since 2011 the fuel duty freeze has cost the Treasury £133 billion.
This huge amount could have paid for lower train and bus fares, better stations, safer walking, wheeling and cycling and much more!
