I am all for Black Lives Matter but when the millions raised for the cause ended up in white limousine liberal coffers shouldn’t that raise some red flags?
And it's not just the loss of GDP that'll hit their war effort - import bans will stop them producing their advanced weapon systems that rely on Western components which Russia can't produce. E.g. their UAVs use Sony consumer level cameras for optics.
@michaeldweiss The Russians don't really have the capability to detect small drones. The radars have to be specially tuned/ML with E/O like artillery radars. Even if they detect them they don't have directed energy type systems that are the most effective. The only thing they really have is EW.
Although there no real dispute regarding the accuracy of advanced drone technology or the necessity of survey licensing, the real issue is how will the drone technology be used? The final notice is probably a bridge too far. https://t.co/v9F3aRo2ec
“Loitering munitions, otherwise known as kamikaze drones, differ from other weapons in being relatively slow but able to patrol an area for a prolonged period looking for targets before identifying, selecting and attacking them.” https://t.co/1MDmZ7q7t7
Not necessarily new reporting since such use was first recorded in 2016 but it does demonstrate detection and mitigation continues to present substantial challenges. https://t.co/uuYduMJERN
“The first section was installed between two towers located in steep and rocky terrain not accessible from the ground.” Avoids inherent risk of HEC. https://t.co/xvRWTy0zoz
“..to conduct a study on how drone trespassing has affected wildfire suppression and costs and to recommend potential solutions.” The solutions would probably be education, detection and enforcement. https://t.co/robJinwkpX
“We provide extensive education and training to our pilots who fly night missions, which teach them how to use lights and navigate safely in this environment” https://t.co/qaHGeHJODk
Better described as DHS comprehensive awareness guidelines as all “defenses” are passive. “So far, neither UAS defenses nor law enforcement protocols have caught up with the rapid expansion in drone availability and capability.” https://t.co/YiPCVCjfqr
Chula Vista P.D., California pretty much pioneered the use of drones as First Responders. They have also done a good job navigating the expectation of privacy concerns raised and closely watched by the ACLU. https://t.co/5I6Tqnu8QM
