No, this isn’t a photo of the Wildberries warehouse in Moscow from last week. It’s a photo of the Wildberries warehouse in Krasnodar from today.

To the question, “But why are the Ukrainians attacking civilian targets?” the answer is as follows:

Wildberries is a kind of Amazon. It has massive warehouses where goods from China arrive and are resold by russian merchants. Those goods are also dual-use goods. “Dual-use” is the term for civilian products that can be used for military purposes.

DJI drones, for example, are dual-use products because they can be used to film a wedding or to surveil enemy trench positions. Wildberries’ warehouses serve as the gateway for dual-use products worth billions of dollars used by the russian military. From thermal cameras to controllers, 3D printers, components, or entire drones, and much, much more. This is the main reason.

The secondary reason, publicly stated by the operations coordinator Robert Magyar himself, is to send the message that the war has returned home to russia.

“Well then, in Ukraine too, the Nova Poshta or Epicenter warehouses—or others—are legitimate targets for the russians, aren’t they?”

No. Nothing in Ukraine is a legitimate target for the russians. Ukraine is attacking these warehouses, just as it attacks russia’s commercial ships in the Shadow Fleet, and just as it attacks military targets—because it has been attacked. Ukraine’s strikes are acts of self-defense. russia’s strikes are violations of all international norms, as this is an illegitimate, unprovoked, illegal, and immoral war.

Lamine Yamal’s name carried a story long before it was known across the football world.

Before he was born on 13 July 2007, his parents were going through a difficult financial period. His mother, Sheila Ebana, was only 16 when she gave birth, while his father, Mounir Nasraoui, was also still very young.

They were trying to build a life together while struggling to cover basic expenses.

During that period, two men named Lamine and Yamal helped the family financially, including assisting them with rent.

His parents promised that they would never forget what those two people had done for them.

When their son was born, they kept that promise.

They gave him both names, Lamine Yamal, turning an act of kindness into something their family would carry forever.

His full name is Lamine Yamal Nasraoui Ebana. Nasraoui comes from his Moroccan father, while Ebana comes from his Equatorial Guinean mother.

He was born in Esplugues de Llobregat and grew up in Rocafonda, a working-class neighborhood in Mataró that he continues to represent with his familiar 304 hand gesture, taken from the area’s postal code.

Football soon became the path that changed his family’s life.

He entered Barcelona’s academy, La Masia, and made his senior debut in April 2023 at just 15 years and 291 days old, becoming the youngest player to represent Barcelona’s first team at the time.

A year later, he helped Spain win UEFA Euro 2024. He became the youngest player ever to appear at the European Championship, scored in the semifinal against France and was named the tournament’s best young player. He lifted the trophy one day after turning 17.

Then came the biggest achievement of all.

On 19 July 2026, at just 19 years old, Lamine Yamal became a FIFA World Cup champion as Spain defeated Argentina 1 0 in the final, securing the country’s second World Cup title.

The boy whose parents once needed help paying their rent had now reached the highest stage in football.

But every time his name was announced inside a stadium, it still carried the memory of two people who helped his family before anyone knew what that child would become.

Lamine Yamal was not simply given a name.

He was given a permanent reminder that kindness can travel further than anyone ever expects.

Many people have asked why do I still want to come to the US after being treated this way?

Let me explain. It’s not about the money, ideology, or work-life balance.

Like I said, it’s all about the American spirit.

America was built by a group of the greatest risk-takers on Earth. And somehow, hundreds of years later, that spirit is still alive.

It’s still the place where people are most willing to bet on ideas that sound completely insane.

As an AI scientist, how could you not be excited by the idea of making a pile of sand to think?
As a rocket scientist, how could you not be excited by the idea of making humanity a multi-planetary species?

It’s a place where you can share your wildest idea at 3 a.m., and instead of laughing, someone is willing to write the check.
Someone is crazy enough to quit their jobs.
Someone looks at the impossible and says Let’s try.

To me, that’s worth far more than money, fame, nationality, race.

If what I want is taking something from 1 to 100, China is an incredible place to do it.

But as my dream is to help create something that takes humanity from 0 to 1, I still believe the US is the best place in the world.

This isn’t about one country being “better” than another. It’s only about where I can find more people who share the same beliefs and ambitions as I do.

Maybe those people exist everywhere. But I’ve always felt America has more of them.

Jo Nagai was raising swallowtail butterflies at his home in Kobe, Japan, when he noticed something odd. The ones he had looked after as caterpillars seemed to recognize him. Wild butterflies fled. His didn't.
He was in second grade. He wrote a four-page letter to Dr. Martha Weiss, an entomologist at Georgetown University who had studied whether moths could retain memories through metamorphosis. He asked if she could help him design a version of her experiment for butterflies.
She said yes.
Using a muscle therapy device, Jo trained caterpillars to associate the scent of lavender with a mild vibration. When the caterpillars became butterflies, 70 per cent of them still avoided the lavender. Their brains had been completely rebuilt during metamorphosis. The memory survived anyway.
Then he bred them.
The offspring, which had never been trained, also avoided lavender. So did their grandchildren. Without ever experiencing the vibration, two generations of butterflies inherited an aversion to a scent their grandmother had been taught to fear.
Jo documented it all in a 33-page research paper and presented his findings at the International Congress of Entomology in Kobe in 2024. He was 10.
A second grader wrote a letter to a Georgetown professor, and together they found evidence that butterflies can pass memories down through generations.
