🚨 Urgent Appeal: Pay rates for immigration/asylum legal aid haven't risen since 1996. Legal aid providers can't afford further representation, leaving vulnerable individuals with no legal access.
Help us urge the Lord Chancellor to find a solution now ➡️ https://t.co/kseRYXj452
Great start to the week spending the evening at @DLPublicLaw where our @EricFripp & @SandraAkinbolu gave a talk on Deportation. Thanks to Bahar Ata & Tamana Aziz for their hospitality & to Alleena Akhtar & Angelique Hu for helping to organise. Great to meet so many new faces.
On 14 May our @EricFripp speaks (live and online) on desertion/draft evasion and refugee status, part of a panel of eminent specialists @RLI_News@SASNews
We are pleased to welcome two additions to The 36 Group!

At @36public, part of @The36Group, we are delighted to welcome Abiodun Michael Olatekun (@ab1odun), who joins us as a probationary tenant after completing public law pupillage at @MatrixChambers.
Today the Rwanda judgment of the UKSC. Unusually no embargoed judgment to the lawyers. This is hard to separate from the recent history- in the Shamima Begum case- of politically directed leaking in breach- i.e. contempt. Fm @freemovementlaw (archive): https://t.co/MoAc5qJF7V
I took a train from London to Manchester today - it cost more and took longer than if I'd flown from Heathrow. We can't be serious about tackling climate change if this kind of thing continues.
Part 2 of the free seminar with Amy Childs and @EricFripp comes up tomorrow at lunchtime, focusses specific reasons for refusal under criminality, international crimes, notoriety- booking via @DGLegalLtd website:

Great result on Friday in another strategic 'no recourse to public funds' (NRPF) litigation.
The SSHD conceded that barring our destitute client and her 1 year old baby from welfare benefits was unlawful & the NRPF condition was lifted from the Claimant's leave to remain.

Sayed is a dedicated human rights defender and should be immediately released. It’s bad enough that the UK funds bodies in Bahrain that whitewash torture, they must not allow themselves to be complicit in targeting those who speak out against it.
We're delighted as part of @36Public that we are able to offer an outstanding candidate potential membership of the team via probationary tenancy, deadline 23 October.
In light of expanding work, @36Public and Human Rights are looking for probationary tenants to join the team.
