The 36th District Court will be closed on Friday, June 19th in observance of Juneteenth. The Court will resume normal business hours on Monday, June 22nd.

The 36th District Court was proud to host a highly successful Law Day in the Community program at East English Village Preparatory Academy at Finney on May 1.

36th District Court Launches Amnesty Program: Waiving Late Fees, Penalties, and Warrant Costs
DETROIT, MI – March 2, 2026 – The 36th District Court is pleased to announce the launch of a Courtwide Amnesty Program running from March 9 through April 2, 2026.
During this period, all late fees, penalties, and warrant costs will be fully waived upon payment of the original fines and costs owed.
The amnesty program applies to all adjudicated cases with assessed fines and costs, with the exception of driver’s license reinstatement fees.
The court will never contact you via text message demanding payment. If you receive a suspicious message like this, please report it to local authorities and do not engage with the sender.
