It really needs to be emphasized that Trump isn't just the most corrupt president we've ever had (and there's no close second), he's also the most corrupt leader in any modern democracy. This really isn't something you see in the first world.
@KordellCaldwell@Macafram@TomMarsLaw Example: my company contracts with another company. I violate the terms of my company’s agreement with the other company. I’m not personally a party to that agreement. But I work for the company. Accordingly, my conduct is imputed to the company, in a general sense.
@KordellCaldwell@Macafram@TomMarsLaw You just contradicted yourself. If the by-laws are only b/w member schools, but Sorsby is somehow still subject to B12 rules, then Sorsby is a party to the Big 12’s by-laws.
@KordellCaldwell@Macafram@TomMarsLaw You’re missing the point. And conflating an injunction with NCAA rules, which still exist (the injunction didn’t make them disappear).
The by-laws allow other member schools to vote to sanction a member school if they determine by 67% vote that TTU’s conduct merits sanctions.
@KordellCaldwell@Macafram@TomMarsLaw The injunction and NCAA rules are mutually exclusive here. The materially adverse conduct is allowing a player who has committed thousands of NCAA violations to play. NCAA rules are still in place—the injunction only prevents the NCAA itself from enforcing them.
@KordellCaldwell@Macafram@TomMarsLaw They can sanction Tech for engaging in any conduct “materially adverse to the best interests of the Conference as a whole,” or for actions that a supermajority of ADs agree merits sanctions. They can also sanction Sorsby himself through the catch-all 1.3.2 provision.
So let me get this TT situation right.
-A retired judge made the ruling in a Lubbock county court.
-If appealed it will go before 4 court justices who have all have graduated from TT.
-The CFB playoff isn't likely to ban TT from the playoff on account that the TT President is on the committee.
-If the member schools/Big 12 try to enforce a new bylaw ruling, or if teams decide not to play them, then TT and Texas AG Ken Paxton will pursue legal action.
-Cody Campbell has donated over 6 figures to Ken Paxton's election campaign.
-Ken Paxton has been impeached for bribery, obstruction of justice and abuse of office. On top of countless accusations of fraud.
Feels like Cody Campbell has everyone in his back pocket. It just all seems a little to coincidental for my liking.
CNN = Owned by a right-wing billionaire.
CBS = Owned by a right-wing billionaire.
FOX = Owned by a right-wing billionaire.
WaPo = Owned by a right-wing billionaire.
WSJ = Owned by a right-wing billionaire.
Ah yes, tell me more about how the mainstream media is “far left.”
I'm not sure Texas Tech is really getting this. Had they just been that scrappy underdog school on the plains with a wacky oil billionaire alumnus who showered them with millions to out-recruit the "blue bloods," I and everybody else would be high-fiving them with glee.
But this Sorsby thing is straight up taking a ginormous shit in the punchbowl. Nobody resents you winning, or paying your team well, it's that you are making excuses for someone who committed the ultimate sin in sports. And no, other teams aren't threatening to boycott you because they're "afraid of you," it's that by taking your giant shit in the punchbowl, you effectively voted yourself off the island.
Athletic officials from Nebraska and Georgia sent department-wide memos today instructing their coaches and sport deputies not to schedule Texas Tech. If games are already scheduled, the schools may work to cancel the matchups.
Here's Georgia's message:
Over the weekend the former head of Trump's Border Patrol attended a summit with fascists from around the world who are calling for "Weimar solutions" and it for some reason has received almost no press coverage.
