July 10, 2026 — Dera Bugti, Balochistan
Riaz Baloch, son of Sajin Baloch, a 35-year-old tractor driver from Dera Bugti, was forcibly disappeared by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) during a raid on his home on 12 June 2026. The raid was led by CTD SHO Umar Khosa, who detained Riaz without legal process. During his detention, he was subjected to severe torture.
According to his family, CTD officials demanded PKR 5 million for his release. After the payment, Riaz was released on 13 June 2026 in critical condition. Due to the extent of the torture inflicted upon him, he was shifted to Aga Khan University Hospital, Karachi, for medical treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries on 10 July 2026.
The death of Riaz Baloch highlights the pattern of enforced disappearances, custodial torture, and extortion carried out under the guise of counterterrorism operations in Balochistan. Instead of upholding the law, security institutions continue to target civilians, subjecting them to illegal detention, torture, and financial exploitation, leaving families devastated and without justice.
Similar operations have become common in Dera Bugti, where homes are raided, individuals are forcibly disappeared, and families are pressured into paying large sums of money to secure the release of their loved ones. Many cases remain undocumented due to fear of government pressure, while several individuals remain in CTD custody, raising serious concerns for their safety.
International human rights organizations must urgently act to stop these violations and hold Pakistan accountable.

Pakistan Seeks to Displace the Local Population Due to Jimuri’s Strategic Importance: BNM Spokesperson
Monday, July 13, 2026 | BNM Spokesperson
The spokesperson of the Baloch National Movement (BNM) expressed grave concern over the current situation in Jimuri Tehsil of Gwader district, stating that Jimuri has been under a complete siege by the Pakistan Army for the past week. A severe shortage of medicines and food supplies has emerged in the main town of Jimuri as well as in the surrounding villages. In recent days, the Pakistan Army has killed five individuals in custody, forcibly disappeared more than 60 people, demolished numerous houses in Paanwan, and forced hundreds of residents to leave their homes.
The spokesperson stated that due to the strategic importance of Jimuri and its surrounding areas, the Pakistan Army seeks to displace the local population from these regions. Using attacks by Baloch Sarmachars as a pretext, the Pakistan Army is directly targeting civilians. Fundamental rights are being denied, while freedom of movement has been severely restricted.
He further said that the competing interests of international and regional powers in the region have further increased Jimuri’s strategic significance. In the past, colonial powers used the area as an important base for their air and naval operations. In light of ongoing regional developments, the region is once again acquiring exceptional strategic importance.
The spokesperson emphasized that the Baloch nation should not view these incidents merely as a reaction to any single attack, but rather as part of a systematic policy. Just as communities located along the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) route were subjected to continuous Army attacks, enforced disappearances, and extrajudicial killings under the pretext of security, forcing many residents to migrate, the same strategy is now being applied in Jimuri and Paanwan.
He called upon the international community, the United Nations, the European Union, neighboring countries, and international human rights organizations to take effective measures to ensure that Pakistan complies with international law and human rights standards, so that the fundamental rights of civilians in occupied Balochistan can be protected.

Paank strongly condemns the enforced disappearance of Muhammad Ishaak Baloch, son of Haji Abdul Karim, a resident of Washbood, Hammalabad, Balochistan, who was allegedly forcibly disappeared by Pakistani forces on 9 May.
This marks yet another chapter in a prolonged pattern of arbitrary detention against him. He was previously detained and handed over to the United States, where he was imprisoned for three years. After his release and return, he was again subjected to enforced disappearance by Pakistani authorities for nine months. His latest disappearance raises grave concerns for his safety and reflects the continuing practice of enforced disappearances in Balochistan.
Paank calls on the Pakistani authorities to immediately disclose his whereabouts, ensure his safety, and either release him or promptly bring him before a competent civilian court in accordance with international human rights standards.

UN experts condemned the sentencing of Pakistani human rights defender Mahrang Baloch to two terms of life imprisonment by a court in Quetta, describing it as a “travesty” of justice -- a misuse of counter-terrorism laws to suppress human rights activism. https://t.co/wlrWsvwbXM
Paank strongly condemns the enforced disappearance of Abdul Wahid, son of Nizar Muhammad, a 37-year-old businessman from Istakhali Naal, Khuzdar, by Pakistani forces on 8 July 2026 at approximately 8:30 AM. According to verified information, the abduction was carried out by personnel of the Frontier Corps (FC).
His whereabouts remain unknown, leaving his family in anguish and uncertainty. Enforced disappearances continue to devastate families across Balochistan. We urge the authorities to immediately disclose Abdul Wahid's whereabouts, ensure his safe release, and uphold their obligations under human rights and the rule of law.

The so-called “ISPP, Islamic State Pakistan Province” is, yet another convenient label used to conceal the role of Pakistan’s security establishment. For decades, the ruthless ISI has been targeting the Baloch people, while religious minorities, including Christians and Hindus, have also faced persecution, intimidation and violence. Earlier, many were subjected to forced conversions; today, they continue to face deadly attacks.
GENEVA: United Nations human rights experts have condemned the life sentence awarded to rights activist Dr Mahrang Baloch, calling it a "travesty of justice" and alleging that counterterrorism and murder charges were used to suppress peaceful protest and fundamental freedoms.
In a joint statement, the experts said the conviction followed an unfair trial and was based on her participation in a protest. Pakistani authorities have rejected allegations of rights violations, saying enhanced security measures are necessary to tackle the insurgency in Balochistan.
@AdityaRajKaul America should actually adopt this kind of attitude towards terrorist Pakistan.then maybe Pakistan army understand and stop the killing people of balochistan and withdraw their nuclear program
