In our world today, about 90% of people do not have the assistive technologies they need.
One of the ways Tech Era is tackling this problem is increasing the number of assistive tech innovators in Africa through partnership with @3Dextra@GDIHub@AssistTech2030@GATE_AT_World
As soon as CV-19 struck, @3Dextra co-founder @MidiaHassan responded to the urgent need for #PPE by putting her 3D printing skills to use.
Together with the @uOCEED team at the @uOttawa, Midia has now reached the impressive milestone of making over 10,000 face shields 👏 #TeamQCT

We had the best advisors pass through to guide the fellows and assist them with their prototypes while evaluating the potential demand and market more holistically.
Tech Era worked with @3Dextra to establish an assistive technology makerspace in Ghana in 2019

Usually, @3Dextra co-founder @MidiaHassan is busy 3D printing prosthetic limbs for refugees and people in poverty.
Today however, she and the @uOCEED team have refocused to create life-saving PPE for frontline workers and medical equipment for coronavirus sufferers 🌟

Thanks to @3Dextra we are able to train more college students to impact children and you with hand amputations by providing 3D printed prosthetics. Tech Era trained 15 students from @KNUSTGH for the day of help which provides social and medical support pwds in Kumasi.
In the summer, @3Dextra launched a partnership with Tech Era & @AshesiDesign to develop Assistive technology Makerspace @Ashesi. The goal was to develop skills in students to use tech for creating low-cost solutions for people of Ghana, especially the ones with an amputation.
A few months ago I worked with this incredible team @3Dextra which led to launch one of the first Assistive Technology Makerspace in Ghana (https://t.co/cARdHKXv2J)

What is learning without fun?
Team work and effective communication are some of the important skills needed to foster collaboration in social entrepreneurship. What a better way to grow those skills than a fun interactive activity!

Inspiring talk from @MidiaHassan, who founded @3Dextra to empower refugee communities around the world. Dextra works with refugees to help them learn to design 3D-printed prosthesis and provide them with those assisted technologies
