Got her GED at 23.

She often worked nights because it paid a little more. My parents took shifts. She was pro-union and stood up.

My dad owned a gas station and got a degree at night. Moms pension still matters for them in their 1,100 sq ft house.

Now I get to hang with some of the most amazing people in the world .. including car company execs AND the folks I met on the @UAW picket lines in Detroit. Proud to know both. Many came from the same beginnings.

Respect to all working class folks everywhere. That’s where it starts.
