Just coached 11 days of the Area Code Games, the elite prospect event filled with the best HS infielders in America, all Power5 commits & I’m still astonished with the lack of Release Point Awareness, Release Point Preparation, & Release Point Versatility! BetterEveryday 6TN🌎

The leap makes McClanahan one of my absolute favorite pitchers to watch. You can’t teach a leap like this.
When a pitcher naturally leaps, never let any coach try to get rid of their leap!
Yes, great post….if you want to stay relevant in the lineup you need to develop your defensive skills. Best place to build your development toolkit is with @TroskyBaseball and @CoachMongero
BREAKING NEWS! You will NOT stay in a college/professional (except DH) lineup if you can't play defense. The best college/pro coaches in the country refuse to put someone on the field that can't make routine look routine. They value pitching and defense!
ELITE INFIELDER’S MANTRA: Elite infielders are high frequency players that come to change the game. They compete with a fear nothing fear no one, I can & I will, attack on every pitch attitude. They field every ball, throw every throw, & make every play with conviction! #X2EAT
Go Freaking Fast!
Here is a great reminder that you can still work to get moving faster to the plate, even once you’ve reached the Big Leagues!
Pitching is a sprint. Get moving to the plate as fast as you can.
We have always known that this was the case, but it is fun to see it with the math behind it. Third toughest schedule in the nation for NJCAA D2.
Our guys stats are the real deal! No artificial inflation, just competing against the top teams in the country every time out!
Drilling one of the most difficult plays to make. The high chopper with extreme topspin…second bounce. Of the 3 glove actions, the one handed press is used here to secure the ball before it eats the fielder up with a nasty in-between hop. #WearRedClay

Lo Cain did more before 8 am every day in juco, than the majority of players did in a week. Fact, I was with him. Met at the gym at 5 AM (lifted), then ran, then hit, threw and worked on defense before he went to class. It can be done!
Tonight, I discovered a 2 ball variation to the backhand focusing on quick transfers to throwing hand,“1 in. hops,” & center line transfers. 🎾 2 ball exchange drills are the core of my routine & originally I would always do 1 ball to my backhand thinking that was the only way.
