Tomorrow 100,000 nurses go on strike. Their real pay has fallen by £1,800 this year, declining by £5,000 since 2010. 14% are using foodbanks while 1 in 3 have difficulty covering the cost of food and heating their homes. But this strike is about more than just paltry pay.🧵
@LBC as a nurse working in south west london, 6 days a week 7am-9pm on an acute inpatient psychiatric unit, nurses should go on strike - it’s the only way forward in assuring that we are heard. The responsibility is immense and mental health nursing isn’t a scene which many see.
