"Oh, great, Linus is gonna give another fucking holiday monologue. Hey, Bob Costas, guess what? The talking pumpkin man didn’t show up last month. We all told you. So maybe you should sit this one out, motherfucker.”
And everyone gained a lot of respect for Franklin that day.
Most men never give one legendary rant. Jim Mora gave us two. First ballot Rant Hall of Famer. I don’t think this would be a good time to ask him about the playoffs …
Big Red Clinch Postseason Berth
December 26, 1982
Roger Wehrli scored on a fake FG in his last NFL game, and Roy Green scored the game-winning TD as the Big Red beat the Giants 24-21.
Check out the key plays with Buck and Stram on the call.

My favorite part of the Magic-Bird rivalry is that two men from different worlds who competed like rabid animals came to legitimately love one another. That’s the best of what sports has to offer if you ask me.
#OTD 2011 - In Game 6 of the World Series played at Busch Stadium, a Cardinals baseball legend was born - twice!
David Freese has one of the greatest clutch performances, in one of the craziest games in the history of the World Series.
The back-and-forth game saw the Cardinals come back from a two-run deficit in the bottom of the 9th inning and again in the 10th inning!
David Freese (with the Cardinals down to their final strike) smacks an opposite-field two run triple in the bottom of the 9th inning to tie the game to send it into extra innings.
In the top of the 10th inning, Josh Hamilton hits a two-run home runs, seemingly giving the Rangers their first World Series Championship...
Now trailing 9-7 as they head into the bottom of the 10th inning, the Cardinals still had plenty of fight in them.
Ryan Theriot's single scores Daniel Descalso to bring the Cardinals within one.
Lance Berkman (with the Cardinals down to their final strike once again) slashes a single to right-center field to tie the game at 9 and send the game into the 11th inning.
🎙️"They just, won't, go, away." - Joe Buck
Starting pitcher Jake Westbrook comes in to pitch the 11th inning, and holds the Rangers to just a single, to set the stage for Cardinals magic.
The first batter of the inning is ... David Freese
Freese wins the game in dramatic fashion, with a walk-off home run to the grass in center field to send Busch Stadium into a frenzy, and the Cardinals into game 7.
🎙️“Freese hits it in the air to center. We will see you, tomorrow night” - Joe Buck

Billy "White Shoes" Johnson Tribute
With full respect to Devin Hester — an all-time great and obvious Hall of Famer, "White Shoes" Johnson (and Rick Upchurch, for that matter) should've been enshrined in Canton at least two decades ago.
Both were two-time All-Decade returners.
