I’m not sure ITV are massively advancing the idea of women’s equality in football by having Emma Hayes give her analysis from a set which looks like she’s stuck in a kitchen?
English journalists: "Mikel Arteta and set pieces are ruining football."
Same English journalists when England rely on another set piece goal: "Thomas Tuchel perfectly exploiting the small margins. Great coaching."
Councils are warning England fans not to fly the St George’s Cross during the World Cup, claiming it is “unsafe” and bad for “community cohesion”.
In England. During a World Cup.
If you are offended by England’s flag, feel free to make your way to the nearest airport.
This goal will be talked about for years. The run, the inside cut past the defender, and Martinelli's instinctive block to protect him — every detail was perfect. The most beautiful goal from the youngest scorer in Premier League history 🙏
When Arsenal went to Anfield in May 1989, even most of their own players did not really think they were going to win the league.
Liverpool were three points ahead.
They had not lost a game since New Year’s Day.
And Arsenal did not just need to beat them.
They needed to beat them by two goals at Anfield.
By the time “You’ll Never Walk Alone” started, it already felt like the whole ground was moving.
Merson had played there before and he hated that feeling.
“Oh s***.”
“Here we go.”
Only this time, he was not really nervous.
Nobody had given Arsenal a chance.
Then George Graham held a team meeting.
“Listen, don’t go out there and try to score two goals in the first 20 minutes.”
“Keep it tight in the first half, because if they score first, we’ll have to get three or four goals at Anfield and that’s next to impossible.”
“Get in at half-time with the game nil-nil.”
“In the second half, you’ll go out and score.”
“Then, with 15 minutes to go, I’ll change the team around, they’ll s*** themselves, you’ll have a right old go, score again and win the game 2-0.”
“OK?”
The room just went quiet.
Liverpool had barely looked beatable for months, and George had just spoken as if he had already seen the whole thing happen.
Merson turned to Steve Bould.
“I’ll have whatever he’s having.”
Arsenal got to half-time at 0-0.
Then Alan Smith scored in the second half.
Then with time running out, Michael Thomas went through and scored the second.
Arsenal won 2-0.
They won the league at Anfield.
Exactly the way George Graham had told them it would happen.
Let me categorically Debunk this utter rot. @sainsburys.
I am a poultry Breeder. The hens that lay white eggs (Amberline/White Star) DO NOT have a lower carbon footprint.
Yes they eat a bit less and produce roughly the same amount of eggs as the Brown egg layers (Bovan/Lowman/ISA Brown) but they live shorter lives, are prone to dying suddenly when startled, a flighty and nervous and because they live shorter productive lives (12 -18mnths) vs brown 18/24mnths (both commercial farmed), you have to incubate more which is increased (Electricity/gas costs) and their eggs are not the same quality.
I breed and keep 20+ different breeds, including: ISA Brown hens and White Stars. All my hens are 100% free range, Not a single barn kept bird, I have ISA browns that are 5yrs old and still laying beautiful Brown eggs, I have not seen a White star live beyond 3yrs and certainly none have laid eggs past 18-24mnths.
White stars Lay themselves to death. They are slender birds and because they dont eat a lot, it drains their personal vitality to keep up laying the eggs you want to sell because of the nonsensical lie that they are "More Carbon Neutral"
You want to know about eggs, come talk to someone like me, Don't rely on some hairbrained imagination of a buyer who's trying to squeeze the profit margin for a few extra pennies at our expense and to the poor hens detriment.
What bothers me the most about the Nowak case is how he had no chance. He was stabbed, and in other cases maybe he would have received assistance, maybe the perpetrator would have run away and then people would have helped, an ambulance would have come.
But he wasn't just stabbed. Then a systematic process began. The knife was hidden by a family member. A second family member made the call to police and lied. This set in motion the police response which judged Nowak the perpetrator without interviewing him or anyone. He was cuffed and couldn't even speak as he was cautioned that he was arrested.
It wasn't just the police response, it was that he lay wounded and dying and those around him were all a family, involved in hiding the weapon, lying to police and telling police when they arrived that Nowak wasn't stabbed.
The whole system was against him, in his own country he was completely alone, surrounded, with no chance to survive. From the moment the perpetrator decided to stab him, he had no chance. The entire system worked against him.
And when you see the video of the perpetrator and family, they act like this is a completely normal day...like they would just walk away and it was fine. No sense of shock, no sense of shame.
